A reporter from another area of the country asking Chris Klieman how he's able to recruit players from Florida: "I've never heard anybody say it's too cold to win."

The guy on the left, o-line coach AJ Blazek, could have stayed in the Big Ten at Rutgers. If he would have remained there he would be unemployed right now. He took the gamble to move down to the FCS job and sometimes things work out.
NDSU is not only retaining Tyler Roehl as offensive coordinator, but Bison will be promoting him this week to associate head coach. Good news for the Roehl fans.
From a friend: “NDSU brand is huge. I walked the UGA tailgate yesterday with a green t-shirt with yellow NDSU on the front. Got stopped all day with Go Bison, and you guys need to move up, you guys play tough guy football. The heart of the SEC and everyone knows the Bison.”
Frankly Rob, your yearly point continues to bore me. Maybe NDSU should drop football. While we’re at it, let’s bulldoze all public golf courses and parks. And cancel Winterfest and Fourth of July fireworks.
It's a great thing that the North Dakota State University football team has brought home yet another championship.
Less great, though, is NDSU President Dean Bresciani's opinion that football excellence is the proper measuring stick for the success of a university.

Former Bison offensive lineman Joe Haeg takes time out from practice to say hi to the Fargo Little League team in Indianapolis for the 12-year-old regional.

Staying at NDSU and not going into the portal helped the draft prospects of Cordell Volson and Christian Watson. Consistent development. Volson wasn’t really on NFL radar in spring 2021 season, made the most of the last 12 months.
A reporter's reporter: Montana State beat guy Colton Pool from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle had his 5:30 p.m. flight to Fargo canceled yesterday, so he and his wife Meaghan got in the car and drove, arriving around 5:30 this morning.
NDSU receiver Phoenix Sproles suffered a high ankle sprain in the fourth quarter of the 39-28 win over Central Arkansas. Prospects of returning for the next game are excellent. Against Youngstown on Feb. 21.
NDSU cornerback Josh Hayes, when asked if he's picked off Trey Lance in practice: "I haven’t. That man is throwing the ball like he’s supposed to be at the next level already. Throwing the ball nice."
ORU violated the unwritten rule of hoops. When game is a blowout and shot clock is off, don’t full court press. NDSU had no choice but to attack the basket.
The son’s first trainer,
@ChristianDudzik
, came to watch his game in Omaha today. Another reason why these Bison football players are so successful. Christian running First Pick training center in Omaha area.
My suggestion to NDHSAA: hold to Dakota Bowl start times of 9 am for 9-man, noon for Class A, 3 pm for 2A and 6:40 for 3A. This is not a PeeWee hockey tourney.
I’m not going to tell anybody how to vote on the Fargodome renovation today, but it sure would be cool to work in a Division I press box before calling it a career.
Lost in the FCS title hoopla, congratulations to The Forum’s Eric Peterson, the first sportswriter since Jimmy Shimtree of the Yale Daily News in 1894 to accurately predict on a weekly basis a 16-0 season.
Got this cool email from Dick Johnson, who played on the 1958 Drayton, ND team that won state and regional titles and reached the final 12 in the country in Legion baseball.
Overheard from Montana State fan in the tailgate lot: "These guys are a little more experienced at this than us." WDAY Game Day pregame show hits the air at 10 a.m. on statewide ABC stations.
Got a nice motivational phone call this afternoon from Pastor Leo Dempsey (Tre's father). Told me to keep doing what I'm doing. Positivity is a great thing.
It is my belief that current D coordinator Matt Entz and Iowa offensive line coach Tim Polasek are the leading candidates for the next Bison head coach. When Klieman thing becomes official.
Spent yesterday with Tanner Volson (pictured with first deer) in Balfour and Drake, ND for story this week. Today he’s off to LA for Chargers training camp.
Impressive start to LPGA season for Fargo resident Amy Olson, top-10 finish in Australian Open; reiterating my belief she will get first career victory this year.
Was that a K-State university jet? Sweet. NDSU president can’t ride in Wrongway Feldman’s open air two-seat prop plane on university business without getting torched. This state has its faults.
