Everyone this is Jackson Tobias Izzo. He came into the world at 7:02 at 7 pounds, 15 ounces this morning on
@CourtneyTobias2
and I’s wedding anniversary. He’s just about the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Mom and baby are doing well!
Here's the North Dakota record setting field goal from Emmet Kenney tonight from Shanley. 58 yards is the new state record. Was impressive to see it in person.

Youngstown State head coach Bo Pelini had some glowing comments on

quarterback Easton Stick and the entire Bison football community. Good stuff here.

Seven years ago today, August 30, 2013. On a sweltering night in Manhattan, Kansas,
#NDSU
delivered one of the biggest wins in school history in front of national television audience.
Former

#NDSU
, now heading to Cincinnati.
Since 2011; North Dakota State has won 112 games and lost eight. They won seven national championships during that time frame. They have nearly as many titles as they do losses.
What an unbelievable night. Never in my wildest dreams did I think of winning awards, I just wanted to do a good job and have fun. This award is for everyone that helped me get here and for the great people at WDAY. Thank you to my beautiful family, Courtney and Jack-man!
Excited to take some time off from
@MicIzzo
this coming week, my dad is coming into town. Haven’t seen any of my family for over 20 months, and my pops hasn’t seen the Jack-man since he was four months old! Expect some tears today!
Beyond saddened by the news of the sudden passing of Jason Thielges.
He knew the challenge of starting a football program from the ground up at Fargo Davies.
That's what made the 2014 state championship even sweeter.
A great friend + coach. Thoughts to his family and friends.
Congratulations to the Fargo Dirt Dawgs, they win the Babe Ruth 13 year old World Championship, besting Greenville, NC 8-2. Fargo finishes the season 56-0. Unreal job by head coach Mike Rerick and his team.

: It will forever be known as “The Drive.” Trailing 21-17 with 8:58 remaining in the 4th quarter at Kansas State, the Bison orchestrate an 18 play, 80 yard drive to score the go-ahead TD and secure one of the biggest wins in school history, 24-21.
Fargo North's Jeremiah Sem's final high school basketball game featured this amazing throwdown.
Brought the house down in Bismarck.

#NDSU
is heading to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in school history. They beat Omaha 73-63. Third appearance in the last six years for the Bison. Not bad for a football school.
Brent Vigen is one of the all-time good guys and a North Dakota sports legend, both as a player and coach. There are a lot of happy people for him and his family out of Buxton today.
#NDSU
QB Easton Stick was just recognized at halftime of the Sugar Bowl for being on the All-State Good Works team, honoring him for his off the field work in the community.
Just got word that girls wrestling will be a state sanctioned sport in North Dakota next year. There will be a state championship next February. Great move North Dakota, this is excellent news.

: August 31, 2019. In front of a crowd of nearly 35,000 at Target Field in Minneapolis, Trey Lance makes his debut as NDSU's starting quarterback. He accounts for six total touchdowns in a 57-10 rout of Butler.
Christian Watson’s draft slot gets him a 3.9 million dollar signing bonus, with a total contract value at 9.2 million. Life changing stuff over the last three hours.
Remarkable to think about, but an FCS program is going to have three consecutive quarterbacks drafted into the NFL. Likely two of them in the first round. Unbelievable for
#NDSU
.
Jamestown becomes the first unbeaten team in Class A boys basketball since Fargo North did it in 2002. The Blue Jays will go down as one of the best teams in North Dakota history.
It’s another one of those wow moments.
If you would have told 7-year-old me that I’d get to do play by play of a football game from an NFL stadium; there’s no way he’d believe that.
Grateful of being on the call of
#NDSU
football and to my family for being supportive!
Not sure there’s an
#NDSU
fan out there that would even dream of two former Bison quarterbacks facing one another in an NFL game. I don’t care if it’s preseason, what happens tonight is historic for the school and football program.
#ThisDayInNDSUHistory
: September 17, 2016. NDSU registers its biggest win in program history. On national TV, the Bison rally and defeat 13th ranked 23-21. Sophomore kicker Cam Pedersen kicks the game winning field goal as time expired to give NDSU a sixth straight FBS win.

Four years ago this month. Grant Nelson was preparing to play in his first state tournament game with Devils Lake.
Tonight he became a recognizable name for basketball fans across the country.
And so another tournament season has come to an end. 38 games over four weekends in three cities. Thank you to everyone that watched. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did in bringing it to you.
Wyoming coach Craig Bohl and his wife Leia are donating $100K to Wyoming to cover the costs of scholarships for all spring sports seniors who want to return in 2021 after their 2020 seasons were canceled.
Told after the game that
#NDSU
head coach Matt Entz presented offensive coordinator Tyler Roehl with the game ball after the victory over Maine. Highly emotional week for the Roehl family after the passing of his mom, Marilyn. Not sure anyone personifies NDSU more than Tyler.
17 years ago today; I walked into this building, not knowing a soul west of Ohio. Fargo-Moorhead has become my home and lucky enough to meet my wife and start a family here.
Thankful for so many memories I have made in my time here. Excited +eager for what year 18 will bring!
There was a line of kids at least ten deep that wanted Grant Nelson’s autograph. He signed them all and took photos. Haven’t seen that before at an
#NDSU
basketball game. Different type of player folks.
Congrats to MSU Mankato on a tremendous season.
How in the world were they a seven seed in the regional? And how was there no other NSIC teams in the tourney?

Look at the emotion here when Hunter Luepke receives the Most Outstanding Player trophy. He plays it close to the vest with the media, but there's real joy here.
A wonderful moment before today's game as Hall of Fame head coach Amy Ruley visits with her former standout guard Rachael Otto. Otto is back home after spending the last five months at Craig Hospital in Denver.
@NDSUwbb
Another season in the books.
Hope you enjoyed following as much as I did covering it.
Thanks to all that reach out, comment or even those that say I stink. Good to communicate.
Next year begins August 31 with Deion Sanders in Boulder, Colorado.
Minnesota Department of Health signs off on high school games starting January 14th. Practices already could begin on January 4th. Good news for MN HS athletes.
Sounds surreal to say it, but today marks 16 years at WDAY. Life changing doesn’t even begin to describe what moving to Fargo/Moorhead has meant to me, to meet my wife and start a family and live out my dream job. Crazy. Here’s to year 17!
