I’m begging churches to turn on the lights. I’m on my knees. Sunday service is not a concert. Why do you have such dark/low lighting? People who use physical bibles straining to read text during service because of low light? No now, these things should not be so.

I have a theory. Hearing the audible voice of God is not a norm 🤔. I’ve been reading the books of the prophets i.e Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. These men had special anointing and God was speaking to them about serious issues that would affect nations. Never trivialities.

This idea that Christians who don’t speak in tongues are somehow less than or they haven’t ‘unlocked’ certain aspects of the Spirit is very dangerous. My own Bible does not teach access to the Spirit based on GTA 6 with missions that have to be completed. Stop playing.

On sin consciousness, both the devil and the Holy Spirit can make you conscious of your sin. The difference is, Satan does it in a way that will cause you to despair and the Holy Spirit will cause you to soberly reflect and repent. Sin consciousness is not in itself a bad thing.

I’ve been ruminating over the widow that gave two mites. I think apart from the selflessness in her giving and wholesome generosity, it also speaks to her ultimate trust in God’s providence. She trusted that even in her poverty, the Lord is always able to sustain.

Same way we know through clear scriptural instruction that the gathering of saints must not be forsaken, we must apply this to the sacraments as well. You cannot pick and choose. Baptism is vital. Holy communion is vital. We have become too comfortable not practicing essentials.

Anyway, random but ever since PSam pointed out that Apostle Paul actually rebuked Apostle Peter by name and ditched all the titles I’ve been wondering. We are so obsessed with titles now. It’s actually rooted in pride but that’s a conversation for another day.

Like Papa Sproul would say, 50 people walking forward when you ask the congregation to give their lives to Christ doesn’t mean 50 converts. It simply means 50 people came forward. That’s my opinion on people who keep count of their ‘converts.’ You will never truly know.
