I can’t stop thinking about it. Sycamore Gap is the image of Northumberland. This beautiful tree was as iconic as the Angel of the North or the Tyne Bridge. So many of us in the North East feel a kind of grief that our tree has been taken from us forever.

In the North East we can feel excluded when coverage is all about HS2 to Manchester. BUT we NEED Northern Powerhouse Rail to better link Northern towns and cities. For that, we need HS2. I stand with @UKLabour Mayors telling Govt both must be delivered for the North to grow.

My Mam, @Liliymac , has been recovered from Covid-19 for 2 weeks. It definitely couldn’t have been described as mild. Despite this, she’s back at work & in her ‘spare’ time is making scrubs for our health & care staff. No wonder she inspires me. So proud. (photo credit- Dad)

Managed to do myself an injury this weekend. I am so grateful to @NorthumbriaNHS staff at Alnwick Infirmary who were amazing. Thank you to them. Next step is to see an orthopaedic specialist in Cramlington. I’m sure me and my sling will be back in action v soon thanks to our NHS.

I can’t in good conscience ‘negotiate’ governments 0% payrise for police staff. Lifting the freeze is smoke and mirrors politics. Police staff and officers are now amongst the only public sector staff that haven’t had a pay rise despite their work through covid and rising costs.
