I am turning 29 in two weeks and here is 29 pieces of advice to young women in their 20's 1. In a world that is telling you that everything is rushing, the least you can do for yourself as a young woman, is to learn to take your time and be gentle with yourself

I was 11 years old, I came home crying bcz my classmates made fun of me. My grandmother smoking her cigarette, yelled from her bench: you don't have a mouth? When they laughed at you, why didn't you laugh at them harder? Since that day, people go low, and I go underground.

I don't think Africans understands how big, huge what the President of Burkina Faso just did. He canceled the non taxation agreed Burkina had with France since 1967. This was among the longest colonial agreements France imposed to its colonies before granting them independence

I listened to the entire speech and I was having goosebumps. Sankara would be so proud of President Captain Ibrahim Traoré. God bless Burkina Faso

We don't need international women's day. We need men to stop killing women We need our governments to address the high rate of teenage pregnancies We need free pads for all girls regardless of where they are. We need rape to stop being a weapon of war.

One of my hills is that as women who date men, sisterly love is loveliest love of all love. Romantic love is pushed down on our throats but... But blessed is who has found friends who love her, who lighten the room when she enters, who see her, know her, keep her and sustain her

My time in Goma in 2021, I heard stories that my heart cannot contain. Rape being used as a weapon of war is not a surprise. It's a known tool in many wars and genocides. Women bodies are always playgrounds

Decentering romance love never meant not wanting it or even desire. It's simply to unlearn everything you have been taught to believe about it as a woman starting with the fact that you need it to thrive in life and if you don't have it, then you must he miserable.

Truly honestly Rwanda has perfected their visit Rwanda campaign. It's flawless, It's well done, it's clean, it's intentional and it makes you want to visit Rwanda not even once but continously. The people behind the campaign, are genius!!!

Today more than ever, a reminder that we must uphold and sustain stories of colonialism and slavery. If we blink for a second, they are whitewashing history, telling us how the monarchy willingly granted independence to its colonies

One thing about African governments, they will remind that they do not care about women's lives at all. Gambia is about to repel anti-FGM In all the things Rwanda can do for women, it's considering making 18 the legal age to marry Kenya has a femicide issue they ignore

Every time I tweet about African history, there are white authors who come and follow me. I hope none of you are thinking of turning our tweets into your books. There are african writers who are already writing about our history , let it pre-colonial or post. Rest!

So many women have had to carry shame that wasn't theirs. Live with a shame that wasn't theirs. Exist with a shame that wasn't theirs So many women have had to hide their stories afraid of being blamed for the abuse and harm they endure One day, they will rise above the shame

Travelling while black is endless headache no matter how much you have or who you think you are. Caucasians or the adjacent races get to move in this world, like they are the right heirs, freely, easily and arrogantly
