I’ve commented many times that I’m not always anti-specialization under the right conditions. The IOC consensus statement on youth athletic development gets the words just right. Read slowly and carefully. And may I add ‘it’s the kids decision’.

Everything is “conditioning”. ATP 💥is the currency of muscular contraction. Sprinting, practice, lifting ..... you don’t need to “get on the line”. Everything requires ATP and activation of ‘energy systems’. And these energy systems are not 💡switches but dimmer knobs.
