The average rent in America as of 8/4/23 is $2,029 a month (Rentdotcom). The average laborer’s hourly wage is $16.86 (ZipRecruiter). That’s $2,697 a month, full-time. Brag some more about “Bidenomics” why don’t ya? 🙄

@sethmpk I’m sorry. My last landlord raised rent from $1,200 to — guess what? — $2,500. And rent control is illegal in AZ. I had to move TWICE during the pandemic, nearly went homeless, and I have a heart condition. I’m sorry this is happening to you, too. And so many. 😢

What cracks me up about Americans is, they’re all about their “rights.” Stupid rights. Like “I have the right to own a bazooka and spit on people when sick.” I wish they would be as vociferous about their right to healthcare, education, a living wage and a decent home.

Has anyone else noticed how the government hasn’t gone broke, even without collecting a single student loan payment for years? It’s almost as if they could afford an educated populace all along. Why, then, would they perpetuate suffering? What’s the benefit to them?

I’m depressed. When will Americans realize that all money is, is a tool to control human behavior, our government spends ours hella irresponsibly, and that we could afford healthcare as easily as we afford 18 million bombs if everyone collectively said “enough.”

@ahouse4all I was working three jobs when I lost housing. Granted, I had health issues, but no one should go homeless when working three jobs (and yes, one of them was full-time). This is a systemic problem, not a personal failing. Clearly we DO need the law to make capitalists pay people.

@RadicalJesus44 There are people who legitimately ask that. I haven’t met anyone personally who wants to be homeless. I have met people who don’t fit into our system and people who our system has crushed. Would it be that hard to house them instead of criminalizing them?
