Well it finally happened! Several weeks of tedious re-architecting, diving deep into Monorepo mental model, learning every toolings support (and limitations) for Monorepo support.
This all after the initial effort of team buy in:
MERGED ππ

I have 2 MacBook Pros, a custom-built PC running Windows & WSL2, and another laptop on Linux... None of them are "superior" they have their trade-offs.
My suggestion, don't get into the brand loyalty camps or hate bandwagons.

I always just assume someone is trying to replace me. That way I'm always motivated to be looking externally and trying to move up or laterally internally.
I don't suggest this mindset for most. It's constant anxiety and paranoia, which I have anyway...might as well use it. π π
@AmarachiAmaechi
I've developed on Linux, Mac, and Windows... It's about preference. I mean if you're developing with .NET and using Visual Studio... Windows can even be in your favor.
I say go with what you like and comfortable with, not what's popular or trendy.
Been sitting on big news lately.
I accepted a great offer with
@chase
and will be starting Oct 14th as an Associate Software Engineer with a great innovative team working on super cool projects! Super stoked
I will be saying farewell to Cloudflare, it has been a great workplace & great people!! I can't stress enough I wouldn't have spent ~3yrs at Cloudflare otherwise!!
Whats next? I will be joining
@ClerkDev
as Sr. DevRel Engineer working closely with
@domitriusclark
among others!
IF you get a unknown Zelle transfer, immediately report it to Zelle or your bank. There is a "chargeback-like" scam happening. They will text you trying to get you to send the money back then immediately report their original transfer as fraud.
My bank didn't even know about it
It's official! I accepted an offer at
@Cloudflare
and am beyond excited to start working with all the amazing people I have met and so many others that work there!!!
@yaykyle
@denvercoder
I wouldn't have signed that... Anything that remotely sounds like "you won't take punitive action in case we don't pay" is just a giant red flag to me lol π

Because misogynists and sexist gatekeepers don't have issues with men's accolades and accomplishments in tech confirming their fallacious bias.
Bouman is a rockstar and deserves credit where credit is due. I am stoked on her accomplishment.
TypeScript sucked the joy out of writing JavaScript. I'm forever grateful I didn't listen to anyone early on and kept writing TypeScript. Now I can enjoy my favorite language ecosystem with superpowers.

Hell yeah, my work commit messages have all kinds of gems.
1. "Bugfix <insert meaningful msg>"
2. "Bugfix snag <terser msg>"
3. "Bugfix again"
4. "I'm not making any more promises"
Yes this is a real commit series π€£π
Hey! Just wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to stop beating myself up and recognize that I am a great person, great engineer and great dad!
I can't stress the importance this library has been playing in our ecosystem.
- tRPC is a great example which gives FullStack apps TypeScript superpowers
Zod is a big part of giving TS superpowers.

I love all technology. Any strange allegiance to one, in particular, is a projection of ego and pride, generally insecurities in something unfamiliar or subjectively difficult to grok.
Uh, hey
@cynetjobs
- what's with this?
Your job listing for a mid-senior level business development position's top qualification is "Preferably Caucasian"
How could you POSSIBLY think that's okay?
I like Danny Thompson, when you see me talk bad about grifters and self-help-like hustlers trying to pull you into their scheme... He ain't it, Danny is as legit, supportive, and just wanting to help, people as they come.

I was like, huh... Check bio... "CEO"
That situation, that person trying to project some grand false self-importance to a stranger... I imagine this dumpster fire.
I was told Twitter was a waste of time in my Tech career and I see a lot of people say it's a waste of time in general.
I am grateful for the opportunity it has afforded me to make really great friends and be part of amazing communities.

Dot catch is *the* way to handle errors in promises without over scoping their catch
Devs avoid it because they learned await as an alternative to method chaining but theyβre so powerful used together
I will be the first one to DM and criticize Theo when he is fucking up. He isn't, he attempted to do this amicably & privately... T3-OSS isn't just a CLI its a community and he is trying to protect the community, thats never punching down in my book.
it's absolutely killing me when library authors list "pnpm install" as the only command in the readme. lmao there are literally 14 ppl using pnpm so chill

First, here is an example:
TL/DR; Found some weird behavior in TypeScript, thought it was cool to share and lots of interesting takes
Attachment?
- seems fine as long as the preview window is well done.

All it tests for is do you know the esoteric quirks of a language... Which is cool if you know it but not practical "fix this ticket" knowledge.
Well, I caused a Prod bug... A good way to start the weekend.
Just a reminder, we all make mistakes, it sucks and feels awful.
Shoutout to my team & org who were completely supportive individually and as a whole.

My home is on fire, I grew up on Maui. It's worse than you think or most of the mainstream news is portraying!
Lahaina is gone, fires are everywhere else on the island, 37 have died, and even more people are missing or unaccounted for...
After nearly a decade of hard work, jQuery 4.0 is in beta. Despite being the most popular framework on the web, I'm concerned this one will slip under the radar, so I decided to make a video about it
