Raising NI is wrong and regressive, placing a grossly disproportionate burden on society's youngest and lowest earners. £20k aged 25 = extra £100 a year £50k aged 66 = £0 Landlord with many properties = £0 Tories protecting vested interests at the expense of society's poorest.

This is so tiring. I’ve shared my story before. I was very lucky to get a place at Cambridge, coming from Wales’ most deprived town. I graduated last year with a first in Law. Why should people like me aim lower? Why should Oxbridge be the preserve of the rich and privileged?

I'm from Rhyl. I went to overcrowded, underfunded state schools. Only my head of sixth’s belief made me apply to Cambridge. I was very lucky to get a place. My journey there wasn’t fair or equal. I graduated last year with a first class Law degree. Did I not deserve my place?

Tomorrow, you can bet the Tories and their press lapdogs will be calling to scrap the ECHR. Two things on that: 1) It was drafted and created by Churchill’s Tories — who Boris supposedly models himself on 2) Only one other country has ever withdrawn from the ECHR — Russia.

@andreajenkyns @lewis_goodall For an education minister, the quality of written communication is appalling. Furthermore, if a child in school were to proffer such a poor excuse for behaviour like that, they’d be told to rise above the provocation. Amazingly, kids are held to higher standards than ministers.
