I mean, the IHSAA does it again. Central Catholic is basically across the street from Lafayette Jefferson but has to go to Elkhart. Penn can throw a rock and hit Elkhart but will travel to Lafayette Jeff. This makes no sense whatsoever.

This is going to fly under the radar but this is a big deal. Governor Holcomb has announced that schools will be given a 20-day waiver to the 180-day requirement to use at their discretion. Don’t be shocked if a good chunk, if not all schools in state close down soon.

The biggest tip to those playing in the live periods, as always, is play with energy. A lot of things you can't control but you can control that and coaches notice it very easily. Energy on offense, energy on defense.

Said this to a handful of ppl already. The IHSAA should give 2 extra weeks at the beginning of the season for coaches to practice with their players. Missing so much time as a unit will hurt. That could open up a chance to run a big jamboree to utilize as a recruiting weekend.

I will say, I would like to see Semistate changed at some point. I like the idea of having this stage at places that aren't Indianapolis but think you should see all 4 North games at one gym in a day and all 4 South games at one gym. Do something like Logansport and Seymour.

There are way, way too many tournaments in Indy this weekend. Spreads out the teams and only the top events will survive. These small school prospects traveling across the country for these tournaments are wasting time and money. DII/NAIA/DIII schools can't travel like that.

Do have to give credit to the guys with the IBCA for the Charlie Hughes Shootout. Coaches came out, teams participated, and recruiting happened. 105 HS teams and more than 120 college coaches were on hand. Pretty good results in Year 1.
