We need 0.5 mm polypropylene to make more protective visors for the NHS. If you know any local businesses who might have spare polypropylene, please ask them to get in touch. We have used 1 mm polypropylene, but 0.5mm is ideal in A3 sheets A3 or on a roll. Please share! 😷❤️

We remain open to children of key workers but working a rota, so staff could stay home. But we’re making visors for the NHS... Today, there were so many volunteers that some staff were turned away for fear of compromising social distancing! Oh, and we made our 1,000th visor! 👏🏼

The news is now officially out there! 😃 Our recent Ofsted visit has confirmed that Haslingden High School and Sixth Form is officially still ‘a good school’. The report is overwhelmingly positive, and the inspectors reported they saw a safe, inclusive and thriving community.

Our students did themselves proud today. Almost 400 students running nearly 100 stalls raised just over £4,000 in 4 hours! The creativity and organisation showed by so many students was fantastic. Thanks of course to all the parents who helped and contributed too. 👏🏼

It is with great shock that we announce that Sylvia Lancaster passed away early this morning. She had suffered from ill health in recent years, but her death was unexpected. Sylvia had such a powerful life force; we cannot imagine a world without her in it.

Congratulations to Grace Connearn, whose poem ‘Mental Health Conflict’ was recognised in the NSI Poetry Competition. Grace was one of the winners among 3,000 entries from 99 countries around the world. Her work will soon be published in their Digital Winners Book. 👏🏼 📖✒️📝

Our school will remain open to care for the children of other key workers for as long as it takes - through the Easter holidays, including Good Friday and Easter Monday, and beyond. We can do this together! 👊🏼
