My father’s new book, 165 pg brief narrative history of #SriLanka will soon be available at bookstores. At 87, he sat at his computer ‘off and on’ for ‘sometime’ to complete it. A history graduate from Peradeniya he worked all his life at t National Archives retiring as its head.

It is plain stupid to float the #SriLanka LKR without hiking interest rates. Real rates are in deep negative territory. Said so many times that 100 basis points was not going to cut it. For God’s sake why cant these people listen for once. Or refer a basic text on the subject.

Horrible scenes. I saw many body parts strewn all over. Emergency crews are at all locations in full force. We, at 1990 also have close to 20 units at the various locations. We took multiple casualties to hospital. Hopefully saved many lives.

President @RW_UNP government must stop arbitrary arrests of non-violent protestors of #GotaGoGama while those who mercilessly attacked them roam free inside @ParliamentLK . This will ruin the chances of success of an all/multi party #SriLanka government. Why not blanket pardon?

I fought hard to keep transparency in procuring large #renewableenergy projects by proposing a compromise amendment to do away with tenders for less than 10MW. My amendment got 54 votes. #SriLanka joins odd group of nations blocking competition. This goes against #goodgovernance

Pres @GotabayaR priority now is not to spend USD 30m on a cricket stadium in Dr Bandula’s electorate. Kindly use t money to build 12 climate controlled warehouses for agri produce n while at it ask your officials to finish t first one I started in Dambulla w/out petty politics.

This is our new EZ stove (Jana Lipa is another option) it is energised by coconut shell charcoal. Uses minimal electricity to work a small fan to stoke the fire. I am told it is very efficient. Thanks Dr Riyad for your innovation; one less line to stand in now. #SriLankaCrisis

Unwise to shut @CSE_Media for entire week… and perhaps longer after that? #SriLanka default and associated issues have now been processed n prices would certainly have to reflect same. Closing the market in ‘bad times’ n wait for ‘good times’ will send wrong signal to investors.
