As I was filling up my car leaving Ignace, I was happy to see this retailer who posted a note indicating the newly imposed carbon tax is reflected at the pumps. Gas price at Ignace is 149.9 today! This job-killing carbon tax is tax on everything, making ON simply unaffordable.
Today with
@RodPhillips01
I announced that at every gas pump across Ontario, drivers will soon know the impact of the federal carbon tax on their wallets. This would take the form of a "gasoline transparency sticker" that'll identify the hidden federal carbon tax.

I'm so blessed to have some great political moments - this was one of them on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at....Queen's Park. Proud to represent Kenora Rainy River.
The Order in Council for the Ontario Legislature to resume sitting at 12:01am on Monday has been signed. My cabinet colleagues and our caucus are working hard to ensure the timely passage of the Efficient Local Government Act.

Today, Premier
@fordnation
and I announced $10M to investigate former Indian Residential Schools burial sites in the province. Ontario will work under the guidance of Indigenous leaders and communities to support this painful and necessary work.
The people of Ontario have the right to understand how this job-killing carbon tax will impact them. Make no mistake about it, this is a tax on everything. That is why our government is fighting this tax to ensure no family or business is burdened by this unfair tax.
I am angry and frustrated with gas prices in nw ON. Kenora on Friday was 119.9 and today is 129.9. Sadly, the Federal Carbon Tax wonโt help as itโll result in a ยข4.4/litre increase to the price of gas so fill up today! Itโs the last day before the Federal Carbon Tax comes to ON.
Glad to welcome firefighters from Mexico to help fight against several large forest fires in the Northwest. We are thankful for the brave efforts of Ontarioโs forest firefighters and all the people that support their efforts to keep our communities safe.
Today with
@MonteMcNaughton
, I was pleased to announce our intention to repeal the failed "green" energy act. This legislation was driven by dangerous ideology and caused your hydro bill to skyrocket. We are committed to cleaning up the hydro mess and lowering bills by 12%
Our government is ensuring no family will be disconnected from electricity or natural gas during these uncertain times. Please see my full statement below for more information.

Our govโt supports nuclear as a source of low cost energy with nearly zero GHG emissions. Happy to visit Darlington today and meet with some of the front line staff who keep our lights on. ONโs nuclear sector supports and creates thousands of jobs in every corner of our province.
Today, we signed a historic agreement. Our government is proud to partner with Marten Falls & Webequie First Nations to keep our promise to build a road to the Ring of Fire. Together we are bringing jobs and economic prosperity to the North.
Kenora and the surrounding area is still seeing growing numbers of cottagers return to the area.
I have been very clear: the Northwestern Health unit and our local hospitals do not have the capacity to serve non-resident patients during the COVID-19 outbreak. (1/2)
I am proud to be the PC Ontario Candidate for our riding of Kenora-Rainy River in the upcoming provincial election. I am excited to join

Did you know wind and solar added $3.75 billion in costs to electricity bills in 2017? 25 per cent of this electricity was wasted but you still paid for it! This is the hydro mess we inherited and why we introduced the repeal of the so called "Green" Energy Act today.

Keeping people moving in Kenora Rainy-River & across Northern ON is a priority for this govโt. Thatโs why our govโt is investing over $5M for road reconstruction in Kenora & Dryden. Thank you Premier

Proud to be with

@OntarioPCParty
Great to have the Premier of Alberta,
@jkenney
join us on our fight to get rid of the Federal Carbon Tax, a tax that makes everything more expensive. Our govt is fighting to ensure no family or business is burdened by this unfair tax!
This regressive, job-killing carbon tax will impede Ontario and other provinces to stay competitive. I'm so glad that
@jkenney
is joining this fight. Let's get rid of the carbon tax and make Ontario open for business and open for jobs.
At every gas pump across ON, we're going to take steps to let drivers know the impact of carbon tax on their wallets. This would take the form of a gasoline transparency sticker that'll identify the hidden federal tax. This tax will add more than 11ยข/L to the price of gas by 2022
Our gov't took a decisive action to put a cap of $1.5M per year in total max direct compensation for the next CEO of Hydro one instead of their proposed $2.775M compensation. Our gov't is cleaning up the hydro mess left by the previous gov't and will always put Ontarians first.
Provincial flags will be flown at half-mast to pay respect to the 215 children whose remains were found at the site of an Indian residential school in Kamloops. This is a dark reminder of the pain that continues to impact Indigenous people across Canada. See my full statement:
Unbelievable that the NDP would play politics with what should be a non-partisan issue. Ontarioโs electricity supply is at risk, with potential blackouts and brownouts starting just in time for Xmas.
Why you should never elect an NDP government. These are nuclear power plant workers. Everything, including public safety, is secondary to NDP ideology: NDP vows to stall Ford legislation to block strike at Ontario Power Generation.

This week I was at the Senate defending Ontario workers in the mining and energy sectors. Bill C-69 will add significant delays to project approvals for mines and major projects putting jobs and economic growth at risk. We need to cut red tape to get more projects off the ground.
The only thing โgreenโ about the Green Energy Act was the green that lined the pockets of well-connected insiders. That is why we are repealing this disastrous legislation that killed jobs, hurt families, businesses and manufacturing across our province.
#onpoli
Our government will not stand by while our economy is at risk by rolling blackouts and brownouts. Families and seniors will have power this Christmas. Weโre calling the legislature back on Mon to immediately address the situation at OPG.
Great to be in Ottawa speaking for energy and mining workers on our concerns about Bill C-69. This bill would make it impossible to build new/replace existing pipelines and delay major resource projects in ON!
Proud to welcome Alberta to our SMR MOU. Together, our provinces are leveraging our world-class nuclear industries to provide affordable, reliable, safe and clean energy while unlocking tremendous economic potential across Canada.
I was proud to use my daughtersโ bibles to take the oath of office today. One was made by Abigail Mae at รcole Ste-Marguerite Bourgeoys and the other is Poppy Kateโs New Testament
Line 5 supports all Canadians and its continued operation is essential. We stand with Alberta, Saskatchewan & Quebec in supporting Canadaโs amicus curiae brief filing that underscores the importance of Line 5 to our national energy security & workers on both sides of the border.
The Government of Canada has filed an amicus brief in the ongoing mediation on Line 5 between Enbridge and the State of Michigan.

Today is Aboriginal Veteranโs Day. I am honoured and humbled to acknowledge the bravery and sacrifice First Nation, Inuit and Mรฉtis veterans made on behalf of Canada. Thank you for your service. Lest we forget.
Itโs an honour and a privilege to lead the northern portfolio as Minister of Natural Resources & Forestry, Northern Development, Mines and continue in my role as Minister of Indigenous Affairs.
Kathleen Wynneโs Liberals made a mess of our electricity system and hid the true cost of electricity through their disastrous fair hydro scheme. If Ontario continued on the Liberal path Ontarianโs hydro bills would be 30% higher than they are today.
By 2022, the federal carbon tax will add more than 11 cents per litre to the price of gasoline and increase the price of diesel by 13.4 cents. The people of Ontario deserve to know the full truth about how the federal carbon tax will make their lives more unaffordable.
The Trudeau carbon tax will kill jobs, raise heating costs and force parents to pay more to fill up their car at the pumps. Ontario families simply canโt afford this unfair and burdensome tax.
#onpoli
Itโs 2019 and one thing our government knows for sure is that this year will be more expensive for Ontario families if Prime Minister Trudeau gets his way and implements a job killing, carbon tax.

This is false. All politicians have a responsibility to be straight with Canadians and itโs disappointing to see the minister twist the truth and distort reality. The minister should read the budget. Our ongoing commitment to indigenous communities is there in black and white.

Good to hear that the Pikangikum First Nation has been connected to Ontario's electricity grid as it once was one of ON's largest off-grid First Nation communities. This connection will bring reliable supply of power to the community for the first time.
The reality is, the stark shortcomings contained within Bill C-69 are significant and systemic. If passed in its current form, Bill C-69 would stymie economic growth, killing jobs and robbing hardworking Ontarians of opportunities in the process.
