Kentucky Derby, Dubai World Cup, and Breeders Cup winning thoroughbred horse racing trainer. British born American citizen who will not “stick to racing”
I would like to be optimistic about our sport but today we are an embarrassment. Perhaps we have to hit rock bottom before things get better but we only have ourselves and the leaders of our sport to blame. For anyone that loves the sport as much as I do it’s a sad day.
We need the Horseracing Integrity Act, we are not capable of policing our own sport.We need better security, this should never have been allowed to happen.The sooner we stop worrying about filling as many races in a day as we can and concentrate on improving our sport the better.
I see the jockeys as being the biggest beneficiaries of the new Coronavirus protocols, no dumb instructions in the paddock and no one to bitch at them after the race 🤷🏻♂️
I won’t apologize for my tweets today.Nothing is more important than what happened in Texas.I am pro life believing children should be allowed to go to school without being shot by an AR-15. I am disgusted by politicians that allow this to happen over again. It’s the guns stupid.
Thoughts and prayers just don’t cut it anymore. Get over yourselves and do something about it. There is no other civilized country in the world that allows people to be shot on a regular basis and then sits around trying to figure out what the problem might be

Never had so many tweets/texts for being 2nd.Thanks to connections for taking a chance and my team for pulling it off.Great ride from
@oismurphy
& of course congrats to winners &
@Jessica_Racing
you got us back for
@BreedersCup
Love the filly,love the challenge,will be back 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Irish War Cry is back at the barn and seems fine. It was too hot tonight and unfortunately he was not able to cope.
Jose did the right thing to pull him up.
Dear America, before you start, I voted for George W. Bush and I grew up hunting. Those of you who are so selfish that you would not be prepared to give up your AR-15, a weapon of war, shame on you. Just imagine how many lives we might have saved. Listen to these kids in Florida.
It’s never been more obvious than during this pandemic that we need a governing body in horse racing. Jockeys should be tested regularly, not on their own nickel, without them we have no racing. Racetracks need to take responsibility. Without leadership we are a rudderless ship.
Having heard the sentiment and now seen first hand Saratoga without fans it is somewhat gloomy but makes you appreciate what a big part spectators are to our sport. Shame no one can be here to witness these amazing athletes equine & human but we are incredibly lucky to be racing.
I came to this country when I was 16 and later became a citiezen. I owe it everything I have. This is the saddest day, we will never be quite the same.
For the benefit of those new to my Twitter feed & judging by the comments there appear to be quite a few, people being shot in large groups on a daily basis is not a common occurrence in civilized countries and when people say “this shall not define us” trust me it already has.
Kudos to
@KennyMcPeek
for going outside the box and winning the Preakness with Swiss Skydiver & Robby Albarado. Great job by
@PimlicoRC
for pulling off a big day, Preakness in October was ok

Super proud of Spendarella. She made it back to Newmarket tired but in good shape. Thanks to the connections
@Gainesway
for allowing us to take a shot and
@Ascot
for taking such could care of us. One of these days 🇬🇧🎩
With everything that’s gone on the past few days/weeks if you’re not on board with the Horse Racing Integrity & Safety Act I’m afraid you are part of the problem, it’s all we’ve got.
Perhaps some of the people protesting to open up their states could go down to their local hospitals and volunteer, maybe leave your guns and flags at home but bring a mask though.
Thanks for all the kind messages, G1s don’t come easy. So proud of
@trevormmccarthy
and all that he has accomplished. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Hay for trusting me with this cool horse and my team for getting him there

@TheNYRA
Today I had 2 people call me for advice,doubt I was much help. I have 2 types of masks,1 for the barn and 1 for going out.I tested negative for Covid antibodies, not sure if it’s good or bad.Keeneland starts tomorrow, it’s July. Life is not normal,people are struggling. Be kind.
I didn’t anticipate looking forward to the Kentucky Derby as much in the month of September as we would the first Saturday in May. Having now seen them run for even longer perhaps it’s more so. It will always be the Kentucky Derby rain or shine,May or September,crowds no crowds.
Just for the record and to the haters who are starting to come out if you support a coup in the United States of America we are probably not going to agree on much so as I suggested before you probably should block/mute or unfollow me so you don’t waste your breath here. Thanks.
Great job by
@FOXSports
and all the talent. Producing a great show day after day showing the racing from Saratoga. Terrific content with good features which made for tremendous viewing.
I will stop eventually but the idea that these politicians can question our intelligence by suggesting it’s everything but the gun is an insult to these poor children that were mutilated by an AR-15, their parents had to provide DNA for Christ’s sake. We can do better than this.
Understand that we have a national organization trying to get off the ground to monitor the integrity of horse racing & protect the horses but our own horsemen's representatives are trying to prevent it from happening. While HISA may not be perfect the status quo is unacceptable.
If you think it’s appropriate for the President to be calling someone Pocahontas while in the White House, have your child try it at school, you might be surprised by the results.
I always find it odd that the ones who write the nastiest tweets are so quick to erase them once you bring attention to them.Maybe think before you tweet.I might create enemies with my opinions but if I can change one persons mind I feel that is a success so I don’t plan to stop.
Disappointing to see the talk of lax whip rules in US racing compared to the rest of the world. Needs to finally be addressed properly. We don’t need the negativity and can do better, the horses deserve it.
The analogy of a black man getting shot in the back by police as he gets in his car with a white teenager walking down the streets shooting/murdering people with a long gun is extraordinary. At least he was eventually arrested. To those who don’t get it no words. That’s all.
I don’t take any solace in other peoples misery, actually quite the opposite I feel some empathy for them but the reality is that those of us who were beaten by Jason Service’s horses have little to show for it other than losing money, owners and horses due to his success.
I see chatter on the Twitter of changing the Triple Crown which I think would be a shame, it’s meant to be a challenge, it’s not meant to be easy. I was surprised how well Animal Kingdom went into the Preakness but was a little unlucky, you need that to! All horses are different.
For those who are having a melt down about the President losing his Twitter privileges perhaps refer to Twitter Terms of Service. The only mistake that was made is that they didn't take him down a while ago.

@GulfstreamPark
our final runner/winner of the year, the irony was not lost on me. To those who have supported us through the year I am grateful, to those I may have offended I apologize. Here’s to a better 2021 for everyone.
Amazing day. There are few better than Bill Mott. Can’t believe we travelled all the way to
@Ascot
to run against Inspiral. Babe is back, there are no days in racing that compare with the
@BreedersCup
Thanks for all the birthday love on Twitter and yes I have had a great day with friends and fam. I am a year older but probably not wiser. I love what I do and lucky to have some amazing people working for me that enable me to have a day away. The game has been good to me ✌️
The White House ran an ad last week that was so full of racism and lies that even their own television network banned it. Fear mongering is not what we are about. Something needs to change, today we can start that.
Odd to see negativity towards Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce leading up to the Super Bowl & Alix Earle promoting horse racing. Sad times when we knock these people but encourage narcissistic politicians with insane conspiracy theories and legal woes. Why we can't have nice things.
So now Bannon is back with Trump but Trump is still not with him, Lindsey Graham said Trump was nuts but now he admires him. Michael Wolff wrote a book from inside the WH but nobody knows how he got there & the President knocks it but he doesn’t read.Ok ok I will stick to horses.
Hard to comment on much of anything on here while watching Ukraine get decimated and their children slaughtered. And to think it's going to get worse.
Don't ignore what's going on, this is on all of us.
Dr Fauci looks exhausted, hard to imagine the mental and physical strain on him. Listen to the experts, thanks to all the Doctors & Nurses who continue to risk everything.
Pleased with Irish War Cry off the lay off. A good second to a nice horse and came back in good shape. Most of all pleased to see
@ljlmvel
walking back to the jocks room, so sorry for Send It In and his connections.
