12 years ago we walked into an derelict building Tonight Wrexham Miners Rescue Station was featured on an ITV documentary about the miners strike. Today over 20 children had an art class the Rescue Cafe hosted over 30 customers. Now every week over 500 people visit the Station

The Gresford miners Memorial wall is complete it will now be covered and officially opened on the 22 September. Work on the rest of the Memorial will continue over the next 2 months anyone wishing to get involved in the memorial project just call in at the Miners Rescue Station

At 2pm on the 88th anniversary the Gresford Memorial Wall will be unveiled by Wrexham AFC at the Miners Rescue Station Wrexham. Over the last few weeks family members of miners who died in the disaster have been have preview of the wall and maps showing the point of the Disaster
On 22nd September 1934 at Gresford Colliery, Wales, an explosion killed 266 men & boys underground. 6 survived and only 11 bodies were ever recovered. The wages of all were docked by half a days pay by the owners because the men had 'failed to complete their shift.'

Keith Hett (the last miner) received £76 from the children of Ysgol yr Holl Saint-All Saints school Gresford raised in there project (a miner’s lunch) in which they made and sold jam money will go towards saving Wrexham Miners Rescue Station

The grandson and great grandson of Peter Davies of 7 council Houses Bradley attended the Rescue Station today and covered his brick ready for grouting. Really nice to have relatives of miners who died helping with the memorial. Thank you

This afternoon we have over 20 children attended Mini Art Buds . Today at Wrexham Miners Rescue Station we have had over 150 visitors. We are averaging over 500 visitors a week. And the Rescue Station is still not safe for the damage carried out in 2010 we only have 40% usable

Lots of work has been done today on the memorial bricks 🧱 for the miners who died in the Gresford Mining Disaster an order for the bricks will be made next week. We hope to have the memorial built for this year’s anniversary
