Today is Liberation Day and the 38th anniversary of the end of the Falkland Islands war. We thank all those who lost their lives in defence of our nation and who made the ultimate sacrifice in 1982 to secure our freedom

In a little over an hour and a half the Falkland Islands will officially be declared mine-free. Today we ‘Reclaim the Beach’ at Gypsy Cove and Yorke Bay - the final areas of our home to be cleared of the legacy of the terrible war in 1982.

29 May 1982 Goose Green is liberated. As is tradition the snow made an appearance but that did not stop a large crowd attending the service of remembrance for all those who gave their lives for our freedom. We will remember them 🇫🇰🇬🇧

A service of remembrance was held today in

for M.V. Atlantic Conveyor which was hit by Exocet missiles. We also remembered H.M.S Coventry which was sunk by Argentine A-4 Skyhawks.
