I can't believe I need to say this, but: Electors are selected based on the popular vote in each state. Any attempt to circumvent that process should be forcefully condemned by every public official who cares at all about democracy. Every. Single. One.
I hope you’ve been hacked,
@GovMikeHuckabee
. Trying to undermine the faith of the American people in our democracy with this baseless voter-fraud nonsense? Publicly confessing to committing felony violations of AR Code §§7-1-104(a)(11)-(12)?
Not funny. Not cool. Appalling.
SAD: Last night,
@realDonaldTrump
again made unfounded claims about massive voter fraud in NH in 2016.
In this letter, I ask him to back up his claims in terms a former casino operator should understand: “There comes a time when you need to lay your cards on the table or fold.”
Once more, with feeling: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election. This includes asking a foreign government to spend funds to benefit a political campaign. It is illegal. It is wrong.
Enough, Mr. President. Enough. Spewing conspiracy theories regarding this election will not change the results.
The votes have all been cast. The votes will all be counted. The will of the people will prevail.
Your lies undermine our democracy and harm our country. Just stop.

And I think the public should absolutely not miss out on this week's Digest. So! Because Commissioner Hunter has blocked the Commission from publishing the FEC's Weekly Digest, I have decided to publish the information myself here on Twitter.
Here it is:
In case anyone is unclear on the concept, in the United States of America, we do not “get rid of” ballots. We count them. Counting the ballots – *all* the ballots – is the way we determine who leads our country after our elections. The only way.
"Get rid of the ballots and we'll have a very peaceful -- there won't be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation. The ballots are out of control." Trump says as he refuses to commit to peaceful transition of power.
My response then and now:
“It is absolutely within my official duties as a federal election official to comment publicly on any aspect of the integrity of federal elections in the United States. I will not be silenced.”

"I don't know what the law in the particular state says" -- Wolf Blitzer has to explain to the Attorney General of the United States that it's actually illegal to vote twice
I can’t be more blunt about this: Mr. President, Members of Congress, should you fail to provide the funds America needs for its elections, you will be derelict in your duty to your country. It would be a devastating failure to protect our democracy in a moment of historic need.

I usually vote in person, but this year, I applied to vote by mail because I (like most people) have a physical condition – a lack of antibodies to COVID-19 – that prevents me from appearing at my polling place on Election Day without a likelihood of injuring my health.
1. Mail voting fraud is extremely rare, and some experts consider it to be safer than in-person voting because paper ballots can't be hacked.
