For anyone who didn't see the match today and was hoping The Sunday Game would fill them in, Conor Lehane had one of his best ever games for Cork and scored 0-7 from play.
They barely featured him in the highlights there!
I love these photos by Eddie O'Hare spanning the generations after county final success at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

This was somehow not awarded as a free to Cork to put them two up deep into injury time before losing to Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-final.
Mind-boggling decision.
Some of the greats of Irish soccer were at Liam Miller's funeral today, but it all started in Éire Óg, Ovens National School and Ballincollig AFC. Here are a few thoughts and pictures on the man who was a local hero before he thrived on the big stage.
Not trying to whinge cause twas a savage day but how was The Sunday Game more about Clare 'collapsing' than Cork outhurling & outmuscling them in the 2nd half?
Game turned on switches - Joyce to 6, Spillane on Conlon, Fitz to half-forward - and Cork winning the middle third...
Hats off to
@BallincolligGAA
and especially Tom Dorgan for organising a night to recognise John Miskella, who bowed out at the end of the season. He made his senior debut aged 17 in '95 and kept going all the way to 40.
His will to win, ball-carrying & skillset were imcredible.
Front page of tomorrow's Echo.
Paudie usually occupied the back on Thursdays with his weekly column.
What a loss to his family and the whole GAA community in Cork and beyond.
One of the greatest wins Cork have ever pulled off. Incredible stuff. Heroic effort and fully deserved.
For all the talk of Cork giving Kerry a rattle, they never believed for a second they'd be caught...
Love it!
A absolute legend of journalism in Cork. What knowledge and insight he had.
More than that he was a gentleman and a great laugh too.
Pat didn't just cover sport, he was part of it, from refereeing to managing soccer teams to running Rochestown GAA.
I can't understand how the analysis of Cork and Waterford on
@TheSundayGame
didn't refer to Conor O'Sullivan coming on as sweeper! He had a hand in four points and stopped a certain goal. It was a key switch by the management. And he's been on the fringes since 2016.
What an achievement by the Cork minors, beaten by 2-10 against Kerry in the Munster opener, they're now in an All-Ireland final.
A fantastic few weeks for Cork football.

"I didn't make any Cork development squads or get trials. My parents always told me to worry about my skills because there are a lot of players are unreal at U14 and they don't even play anymore."
#CorkGAA
Clare pucked the game away, as they have before in recent Munster finals, but that was as stonewall a free as you'll see at the end of added time.
Inter-county referees are not having a good run lately!
We're not Liverpool fans but had to call into the main man for tonight's game. Nearly 96 and he's wondering if we can head to Anfield again next season!

Division 3 Cork, after beating a woeful Limerick, are suddenly favourites against the Division 1 runners-up, who have hammered the Rebels in the last two Munster finals in the Páirc.
And they wonder why we get sick of the nonsense Kerry spout.
Daniel Kearney deserved a bit more credit on The Sunday Game, 0-4 from play, fouled for five scoreable frees and two assists. Close to Eoin Cadogan as Man of the Match.
Also felt Fitzgibbon's display was very mature and disciplined. Held the middle and made some big tackles.
Newcestown put a savage effort in today. Their attitude and work-rate is unreal.
If Cork inter-county teams are looking for a template they should head out west...
It's rare an underage team lives up to the hype.
The Cork minors were a credit to themselves and their clubs.
Brilliant job by Noel Furlong and the management as well.

Some iconic pictures of Teddy McCarthy along with a few rare shots from our archive to honour a Leeside legend, a GAA icon and a true character of Cork sport.
Obviously disappointed Ballincollig were beaten today but Eamonn Brosnan was pure class for Meelin. He's come back after three cruciate injuries and hit 1-14 of their 2-21. Cracking hurler.
One of the most enjoyable pieces I've done.
Paudie O'Sullivan on... the ups and downs of his career, the hurlers he admires, why he doesn't miss the pressure of Cork duty, and the joy of winning a senior county.
Spent a day in Beál Átha with Eamonn Ryan for this.
His approach was about empowering players and always reflecting on his own coaching.
"There are things you do and you just can’t believe you did them but that’s what we do as humans, make mistakes."
As junior B as it gets.
Late call-ups, reluctant former hurlers dragged out of retirement, a selector at corner-forward, a minor filling in, playing most of the game a man down, with two goals at the death to steal a result.

Absolute class from
@daveyhannigan
:
"Corkness is Dave Barry fixing a back boiler in Ballyphehane the same day he scored a goal against the mighty Bayern Munich.
"Corkness is Christy Ring. The madness in his eyes when the ball came into his orbit."

Christy Ring was born 100 years ago this Friday. I spoke to my grandfather, who knew him since the '30s, worked with him at Shell and is in the back row of this fantastic picture, about the man behind the myth.
His amazing memorabilia is included.
Horgan got some unreal points today but I reckon Fitzgibbon or Cahalane were Cork's top players. Some of Coleman's plays were electric too.
Can't wait for Thurles next weekend now. Huge stakes for Tipp.
Really enjoyed the minor game too.
Nothing beats Cork hurling...

Attitude, savage work-rate and clever team work meant Cork fully deserved their victory over Kilkenny.
Particularly delighted to see Conor O'Callaghan and Robert Downey hurling so well after the criticism following the Tipp loss.

Brilliant win for the Cork U20s.
Knocked out by a point at minor three years ago, reversed it in the Páirc, though they could have won by more. Love it!
Last three years Ring's teams: played 13, won nine, lost three, drew one.
Cork won their first Munster minor in nine years and first U21 in 11.
All three defeats were by a puck of a ball and the U20 last night was always 50-50.
Disappointing but a bit of perspective is needed.
Loved watching Alan Cadogan in Rebel red, fly out in front of a corner-back, catch the sliotar low and go direct.
Had some brilliant seasons in the Cork geansaí.
What a sizzling performance in extra time!
A talented group no doubt but the management deserve huge credit for helping them recover from a first round trimming in Munster to deliver on their potential.

JAHC semi-final, as
@clongaa
's Eoin Ryan puts his body on the line to block a shot from
@BalGAAofficial
's Brian O'Donovan, and manages to snap the hurley in two as well! Credit to Paddy Feen for a top-class photo.
What a result for the Cork minor footballers!
Lost Ross Corkery to injury, Colin's son/arguably their best forward... still knocked Kerry out.
Particularly thrilled for Michael O'Brien, Gary Sheehan and Donncha O'Connor in the management team.
Helmets off to everyone involved with
@_THEGAME_RTE1
. It's just epic. Like hurling itself.
The only downside is trying to unwind and put the hurleys away after. Hurleys not hurls obviously.

Cork football is now a laughing stock.
It's so embarrassingly bad the Tyrone crowd were sympathising with us long before the full-time whistle: ‘Sure at least ye’ve the hurling,’ While that’s fair enough in a way, it’s not good enough.
Today I’m celebrating 45 years at The Examiner/ Echo, remember the first day, Whiddy Island oil refinery disaster, an incredible journey covering some of the biggest and most importantly local , sports, news and concert events , met some wonderful people , it’s been a pleasure .
Stayed on in Croker to meet up with Brian Corcoran. Well worth it.
Full interview here with the Rebel legend on underage issues, winning mentality, club refereeing not steeling Leeside hurlers for inter-county, & the footballers too.

Ben O'Connor was a serial winner as a player with Newtownshandrum and Cork and, like the Charleville and Midleton sides he coached, these U20s are super-fit, honest, skillful and dogged to the last whistle.
Magnificent writing from
@daveyhannigan
on the impact of SHOOT! magazine and a snapshot of another era.
And very funny, as always...
"It was the least fun I’ve ever had kicking a ball and I almost got knocked down by cars twice."
Last summer up in Belfast, the youngest lad wrote this on the Peace Wall. Took a pic at the time to slag him in the future.
You can imagine his joyous reaction when I came back from the Páirc.
Isn't sport great!
#RebelsForSam
Coleman was incredible last night obviously but is also a class act off the field. He was the last man back to the dressing room after signing autographs.

Can't understand Rebel Óg's approach to this.
Keeping players involved 'on the age' as much as possible should be the aim. Rolling grades in together because of a handful of stronger players is completely at odds with player development for all.
Christ Cork made heavy weather of that.
Bill Cooper was outstanding. Joyce lorded the air in the second half. Kingston nailed an unreal point to trail the game.
The winning of the game was bringing Conor Sull in a sweeper. Four assists and a goal-saving tackle on Devine.
Absolutely magnificent from Nemo. 1 to 15, every one of them were outstanding. Special mention to lesser-known players like Kevin Fulignati, Paddy Gumley and Alan O'Donovan.
Great boost for Cork football too.
Digging through the Echo archives for a new series on city hurlers and came across some of these brilliant photos.
You can't beat championship!

minor showdown. Both sets of players were a credit to their clubs and the underage work going in.
Lots of positives for Cork hurling too on a special night for the Blues.
