An ice storm warning continues to be in effect for Vanderburgh County by the National Weather Service, with freezing rain expected overnight and into tomorrow. Because of this the EVSC will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, February 3rd).

At a press conference this afternoon the health officer for Vanderburgh County, Dr. Ken Spear, recommended the closing of schools next week, March 16 through March 20. Local government officials were in full agreement of this recommendation.
The Indiana Department of Education created a waiver process for school districts that had to cancel multiple days of school this year. The EVSC submitted a waiver request per IDOE guidelines that has been granted...therefore we will NOT be making up the snow day from Monday.

Will be monitoring road conditions tonight and again in the early morning hours. Keep in mind we typically make decisions very early in the morning and announce around 5:00 a.m. No news is good news...so no announcement always means school is on regular schedule.
Everyone knows about the Tour de France... But have you heard about the Tour de North? We might be a little bias, but the Tour de North is totally better.
Tour de North is a North tradition where seniors dress up & ride their bikes to Bundrandt Stadium near the end of the year.
The EVSC will be utilizing waiver days issued by Gov. Holcomb for the next two weeks. During this time teachers will be planning and preparing for the continuation of virtual instruction next month. Students will not be assigned virtual assignments during this time period.
