Drongan Primary Remembers
Our P7s walked to the memorial bench to observe a 2 minutes silence. They laid down stones that they have decorated and personalised.
Thanks to Mrs Clarke from the Community Association and Rev. Landman who joined us.

A huge thanks to Alan Green and Maybole Upholstery for the refurbishment of our bench in the front foyer. Our janitor Mr Kelly also painted the wooden surround. We are extremely grateful for this kind contribution, I'm sure you agree it looks great.
Today we said goodbye and Happy Retirement (and happy birthday) to our special cleaner, Sheila. She has served our wee school for 29 years and made it sparkle. She’ll be missed!
All of our classes would love to say a huge thank you to Mr & Mrs Mitchell from the village store. They donated selection boxes to all of the children in the Primary School. We had some very happy children today! 🎄
Inspired by her love for learning about the Titanic, Laci built a Lego version of the boat at home with her dad. We were all very impressed by her creation!😃
Our annual P6/7 Burns Supper was a big success today. The children did a great job with their poems, speeches and songs. Thanks to
@HallsOfScotland
for donating the haggis and bringing Hamish for a visit, as well as

Our Primary 1 certificate winners from this week! Every week we will be posting pictures of our class certificate winners on twitter. As we are unable to hold assemblies at present, we still want to give them a chance to shine! 🌟
@EacEducation
Well done to the following pupils who took it upon themselves to help a member of the local community to litter pick in the village. Really proud to see that our children are taking a pride in their local community.
Primary 1 enjoyed listening to Anna Llena’s book “The Colour Monster”. We talked about how we felt about coming back to school and drew our own monsters on the colour we were feeling.
We are delighted with the results our Graffiti Artist project that was completed yesterday. Well done and thanks to the children whose designs were used, and also a huge thanks to Scott McKenzie (TapEndTEF) who worked so well with them and created these wonderful murals. 🎨
P1a have been learning about children’s rights. Our advent calendar helps us to learn about children around the world and the money used to buy it supports the children. We will learn about a new child and country every day.

@PetsatHome
for the kind donation of the tank and materials.
The hub children used their “Elmer” money to support local NHS staff. We bought cakes at Keystore and at 3pm our children delivered them to the pharmacy and medical practice. The staff were absolutely delighted and shouted their appreciation out the window.

Just in case anyone is concerned, our wee Drongan PS fish is now social distancing in his new home! He will be looked after well by one happy little girl!

A huge thanks to our Community Association who donated £1000 to put towards the cost of transport for our summer trip. Margaret Clarke and Pat Jones came to present the cheque. Thank you from everyone at Drongan Primary School. They also donated £500 to our ECC.
After receiving special recognition for energy at the EAC Clean Green Awards in June, we were invited back to present our work to over 30 schools and elected council members. We are proud of Priya and Summer who presented clearly and confidently at the EAC Clean Green Conference!
Our children enjoyed visiting Rowantree Court today to share their poems and performances from the Scots Verse Competition and the Burns Supper. 🎤🏴
After experiencing Autumn outside P1a took their learning inside. Black line drawings and leaf prints make effective Autumn pictures. 🍁🍂

A huge thank you to one of our parents, Alma Wightman! Her handmade 'Worry Worms' that she donated for our LIAM group (a small group of children who experience mild anxiety) have been a huge hit. She has made us many more which will be a great coping tool for some of our pupils!
Reaching Out - a message from our Pupil Council. Each week, classes will send personalised letters sharing our news, messages and pictures to someone who might benefit in our community. Full details in our October newsletter.
