It’s entirely possible that I missed it, but I didn’t see a single MSM outlet covering the Freedom March in Calgary today.
It was probably one of the largest demonstrations in Calgary’s history, but nadda.
1. I've been quietly watching the Hamas/Palestine-Israel conflict unfolding as it washes onto our shores. But now seeing Jewish businesses and people threatened on our streets by overt anti-Semites has compelled me to share a story I haven't spoken of until, now:
Invoking the Emergencies (War Measures) Act against non-violent dissenters demanding their liberties back, is an act of war.
If the PM goes down this road, he will be opening a door into a dark room which will leave none safer, and none freer. We will all suffer for it.
Not a fan of
@TheMenzoid
's questioning style, but I never once imagined that it would get him violently arrested.
This is FUCKING wild.
There are thousands of literal terrorism and genocide supporters in the streets, but *this* guy gets arrested because they think he's a pain
BREAKING: Rebel News reporter David Menzies (
@TheMenzoid
) was brutally arrested by police after he tried to ask Chrystia Freeland questions.
Visit Rebel News for more on this story:
17. One way or another, the mobs marching through Western streets are sending a shiver down the spines of our Jewish neighbours, and for good reason. We've seen this show before.

8. This Über driver doesn't speak for all Arabs or Muslims - only for himself. But, it's undeniable that the Islamic world has a serious problem with anti-Semitism. It's taboo to say it, but I'm going to. And I think I have some license to.
16. Criticism of the Israeli government isn't anti-Semitism in and of itself. But those who hold it to an impossible standard of expecting it to lay down its arms while barbarians commit mass murder of civilians are letting slip the mask hiding their hate.
13. It's taboo and politically incorrect to say it, but I have to: Islam needs to deal with the anti-Semitism problem in its own ranks. People like me can't do it. Only they can. They need to come to terms with the crimes committed in their name, and reconcile with their past.
This is not a case of police officers just doing their job enforcing bad law. This is a case of police crossing the line into political weaponization of the law to serve their political masters.
These officers should be fired immediately.

12. Since 1948, Israel's Arab neighbours have tried repeatedly to perpetrate another mass murder of the Jewish people. Many - as we saw in recent weeks - still try. And do so with the overt support of diaspora communities in the West, and certain progressive political factions.
5. Despite my instincts, I stayed mostly silent, wanting to know how this man felt. He genuinely believed he was paying me a compliment by praising the blackest crime committed ever committed in the name of Germany.
4. That is, until he explained that his admiration was for the mass murder of the Jewish people committed in Germany's name. He raved about how Hitler saw the Jewish people for what they were and that Muslims and Germany shared a historical mission: the elimination of the Jews.
If the government would refund my taxes that go toward healthcare & allow private insurance, I would gladly identify as unvaccinated and opt out of the government monopoly tomorrow.
I dare you premiers: give us the choice.
Premiers who have imposed their own vaccine passports have no right to condemn Trudeau for imposing his. It’s too late to call yourself a defender of freedom.
The best you can do it apologize, accept responsibility, and resign.
9. In 1945, Germans were confronted with the crimes committed in their name. Most did not know the extent of it, but they knew they had at least some responsibility to bear for supporting a regime that that at a minimum, they knew persecuted the Jews.
6. After getting to the airport, I tried to digest the experience.
Firstly, it reminded me that at least some people think that Germans/German descendants are still closet Nazis. In his case, he felt that was a good thing that gave us a connection.
Today I announced to employees of the Western Standard our newest employment benefit:
-Free firearms safety training (at the
@TSEyyc
)
-Free firearms license (PAL) course
-$500 interest free loan for the purchase of their first firearm
Thank you, and God Bless Alberta.
Want the government to pull the broadcast license of Russia Today (RT)? I’m down.
But while we’re at it, let’s pull the license of all state-owned or state-funded media.
Still with me?
14. That doesn't mean self-hatred or a rejection of their faith and culture. But it means honestly confronting what has been done in the name of their faith, rooting it out, and moving forward in reconciliation.
10. The German people had to confront what was done in their name. They had to understand these crimes, make restitution (so much as was possible at least), and reconcile with both the Jewish people and themselves.
15. Israel has its faults. It is not above criticism as many political conservatives and certain Christian denominations treat it. It is a state, and states are (very) fallible. Israel has done wrong, and it is fair game to call it out when that happens.
11. That shouldn't extend to self-hatred and a rejection of ones culture as some Germans have taken it to mean, but "Vergangenheitsbewältigung" (struggle of overcoming the past) was and is necessary in making people with others and one's self.
People who describe themselves as "journalists" but spend all their time amplifying misinformation for clicks -- or rage-baiting off the trauma of others -- aren't journalists.
They're cosplayers.
2: Last year I ordered an Uber to get to the Ottawa airport in returning to Calgary. The driver was an Arab (I *think* from Saudi A.). He was friendly and talkative, and inquired into my family background, which I said was primarily German.
Toronto has banned tobogganing at 45 hills across the city due to safety concerns and one councillor says he's not happy with the move because there are more important issues that should be drawing the attention of city staff.
3. Upon learning I was of German descent, he immediately lit up, and very quickly spoke of his and his people's admiration for Germany. As someone proud of his heritage, I of course was glad.
Fight “toxic masculinity” and be worried about the “social impact” of male pipeline construction workers. Only a guy who’s never had to work a day in his life could mutter nonsense like this.

Tomorrow there will be an “Equalization Blockade” at the corner of 16th Ave and 14th St. In Calgary. Let’s see how long it takes for the police to remove us.

While taking a leak at the Ottawa Int. Airport, I found tampons and maxi pads in the men’s room.
This shit isn’t real. I still don’t believe it. I’m in the Matrix.
We want to thank
@gofundme
for listening to our concerns as a City and a police service. The decision to withhold funding for these unlawful demonstrations is an important step and we call on all crowdfunding sites to follow.
A junkie (caught on camera) pushed my bike over causing a few thousand dollars damage in downtown Calgary today. No cause. Just for fun.
Will post photos of him when I have it.
The decision to boot
@MaximeBernier
is insane. He represents 49.9% of Conservatives. If the Tories are trying to lose the next election, they are succeeding.

Personal thought: There’s nothing wrong with MPs/MLAs traveling right now so long as they do it responsibly, & IF they are on the record as publicly against lockdowns and restrictions on non-essential travel.
Trudeau: We are banning guns used solely for shooting large numbers of people. These are not hunting rifles.
Also Trudeau: First Nations that hunt with these rifles are exempt.
Does CTV have any pictures of the Queen other ones with Justin Trudeau?
12 prime ministers have served during her reign, but there appears to be only 4 pictures on file.
I just took the time to read Rex Murphy’s heretical column. For the life of me, I don’t understand what the uproar is about. Is it truly now a hanging offence to point out that most Canadians aren’t racists?
If you think it’s OK to march for BLM, but that it’s not OK to march against lockdowns, you are not concerned with health. You are concerned with control.
Rex Murphy was - to me and many others - the greatest columnist and political commentator of a generation. Growing up, I remember his monologues on the CBC, captivated by the wisdom of his common sense and curious of his peculiar accent. This impossibly articulate Newfoundlander
7-Unless I’m mistaken, $200 is the donation disclosure. This was a $131 donation. That it is made public, is either an illegal disclosure by Elections Canada, or much more likely, and inside leak from the CPC.
No “assult rifles” have been banned today. No “military rifles” have been banned today. No “automatic guns” have been banned today. Those have already been banned for decades.
Every single gun banned today is a strandard, normal gun that just looks scarier than others.
Trudeau thinks that pipelines are a problem because most of the construction workers are male.
I think trust fund babies are a problem because some of them think they know how to run the lives of people who have to work.

Notice to restaurants and bars: Your outdoor table seating limit is now 10. And every single patron can be from a different household. And no mask is required when they get up or go inside.
We’ve all just been misunderstanding the rules.
While admitting that most gun owners are law-abiding, Justin Trudeau claimed that "you can't use a gun for self-protection in Canada. That's not a right that you have."
Why punish those following the law?
If
@PremierScottMoe
is serious in his opposition to invoking the Emergencies Act, he needs to make crystal clear to the Sask RCMP that any use of it on Saskachewan soil will result in the abolition of the Sask RCMP.
@CBCNews
This is the “Fake News” graphic that the CBC has ordered Western Standard remove.
Let’s RT the hell out of it. And don’t forget to CC:

I’ve just informed the WS staff that the company will loan them up to $500 (interest free) to put toward the purchase of handguns & other restricted firearms.
Buy em’ while you can folks.
I will consider getting my 3rd shot (2nd booster, ect) if and when the Alberta government repeals mandatory vaccination and stops discrimination against the unvaccinated.
I will make a choice. I will not give in to coercion.
The right to choose.
To be safe.
To earn the same wage for the same work.
To control your own body.
Your own future.
And your own life.
On International Women’s Day - I celebrate all the activists fighting for these rights for all women, non-binary & two-spirited people.
By side-stepping the elected Wet'suwet'en council, the government is legitimizing the right of self-proclaimed, unelected chiefs to be the true voice of their people. They have as much right to negotiate on behalf of the Wet'suwet'en as I do for Alberta; that is, none.
Over the past three days, there have been frank and substantive discussions, guided by Wiggus (respect), on the complex issues with respect to Wet'suwet'en rights and title. The result is a draft arrangement that will be reviewed by the Wet'suwet'en clan members.
