We are the family with the very sick kiddo who mask up regardless of orders/mandates! So..let me tell you how effing angry I am that this guy is encouraging strangers to take photos + videos of my kiddos as if THEY are doing something wrong..who also have special needs!
We sorted through 15,000 documents this past summer to finally find the truth! We gave thumb drives to every elected official. Iโm thankful
@HawleyMO
took the time to sort through them + actually read what happened/has been happening to us for decades and took a stand!
Republican Leadership doesnโt want to spend a dime on Missourians poisoned by radiation from their own government - but we have an endless supply of cash apparently for Ukraine. I will vote against and work against any Ukraine aid until Missourians get compensated for the DECADESโฆ
Great question!! We have been to DC 4x in 6 months and begged his office for a meeting- even just with
@SpeakerJohnson
โs staff. We have gotten nothing but complete silence!
While the MO Attorney General is complaining to the US Dept of Energy about energy-efficient appliances, St. Louis County residents hope he will also tell them to come clean up the many radioactive sites they left here.
The Department of Energy shouldnโt be able to dictate what laundry machines people buy & shouldnโt enact such insane emissions standards that Missourians have to run their dishwashers twice.
Missouri has filed suit to stop these unelected bureaucrats drunk with power.
Agree! I guess we all have to wait for Congress to take their 2 week vacay before they consider those of us poisoned for decades by our own government?
The Moms woke up PISSED this morning! St. Louis and St. Charles doesnโt have time for stalls! The process we want used was just used to fund BILLIONS of dollars for foreign aid without a pay-for or hearings! We have fought for 11 years and we are not letting RECA die!
We see this unfortunately EVERYDAY in the STL and ST Charles region! Such an unbelievable loss for all who knew Scott! Pray for his family and pray
@SpeakerJohnson
and
@RepAnnWagner
can get RECA onto the House floor for a vote in the next couple of weeks before it expires!
My heart is breaking for these kids and families. Praying for the
@HazelwoodSD
and board members. Our
@ENERGY
needs to step in and clean up this school immediately!
We are calling on the Congresswoman to unequivocally support the RECA bill that passed the senate yesterday and also demand it receives a vote in the House immediately. Thatโs what we need her to do and will be asking this of EVERY Missouri House Member!
.
@DawnChapmanSTL
: "We are all part of this radioactive family," calls for 5 year cleanup of St. Louis nuclear waste, radiological contamination in news conference with bipartisan group of state, federal lawmakers.
Thank you
@EPAMichaelRegan
and
@RepCori
@CoriBush
for meeting w/ us
@Justmomsstl
this morning about West Lake Landfill. We are thrilled w/ the direction + attention being brought through the Infrastructure Bill and administration to these sites + communities across the Nation!
The Congresswoman and other members of Congress have not hesitated to pass tens of billions to fund foreign aid. Now itโs OUR turn! We can do both! Same process can be used now for RECA that was just used for these aid packages! Radiation likely underneath homes is an emergency!
I refuse to be added to the out of control Facebook group where parent/s are threatening to break the legs of
@DrSamPage
kids! STOP TRYING TO ADD ME!! I donโt care how pissed you are your kids canโt play sports! WE DONโT THREATEN TO HURT KIDS!!
The look on my face when Iโm out celebrating my 22 year anniversary but still PISSED at
@ENERGY
for leaving their radioactive waste sprinkled ALL over St. Louis!!
Excited to be going to be attending the State of the Union Address as a guest of
@HawleyMO
! Hoping this helps provide a visual while attending w/ other impacted community members who will be there as guests of their Senators!
Sen.
@HawleyMO
will bring
@DawnChapmanSTL
as his guest to the SOTU. Chapman has been fighting to secure funds for those exposed to nuclear radiation with
@Justmomsstl
. A bill to reauthorize and expand funds for those victims will come to the Senate floor this week.
I feel like I have whiplash from how fast some opinions have changed! Seems like we went from not trusting teachers with library booksโฆ.to wanting to arm them with assault rifles and tactical gear so they can protect our kids!
These are the Berkeley Ballfields in St. Louis that are having radioactive waste removed from them TODAY! 1,000โs of kids + adults played on these fields for decades! This is not a historical problem. US Department of Energy
@ENERGY
still has more radioactive waste to remove.
Did you know that people living in North County by the creek are not even supposed to let their pets inside without wiping their paws! This is so unfair! Whatโs worse, the
@ENERGY
has never mailed these out to residents so many have no idea. Why leave this on the surface?
I don't want to hear another rich white person mention they won't wear a mask because "I will not live in fear." That is a privileged statement! If you want to experience true fear come live next to a burning radioactive Superfund Site.
Thank you
@clairecmc
to helping to clean up
#WestLakeLandfill
This is one tweet that could have part after part about how much I have learned from you and your staff! More important than just protecting us was giving us the tools we need to protect ourselves!
Thank you
@stltoday
for taking a risk and in 1976 allowed one of your reporters to blow the lid and alert officials to the contamination illegally dumped at
#WestLakeLandfill
! It was you all who started this movement that led to entire community waking up! Thank you
Volunteered @ Maryland Heights Covid Vaccine site today. Moving story...75yr old woman sitting + waiting after her vaccine w/ tears in her eyes. I asked if she was ok. She said her son is in asst. living. She just realized now she will be able to bring him home for Easter!
Another morning spent registering folks that donโt have internet access for the COVID Vaccine! We really need a 1-800 number. The elderly and those living with a disability donโt always have internet access!

Coldwater Creek runs along our backyards, churchyards, public parks, & elementary schools.
As we work to clean up our creek, we have to keep kids & families out of the toxic water. Proud to introduce the Coldwater Creek Signage Act to keep St. Louis safe.
Here is the reason for the concern about flooding in North County from Cold Water Creek and its tributaries. All the highlighted areas on this map are roads that the
@ENERGY
decided to leave enormous levels of radioactive waste underneath! Many were submerged last week!
Just so you all knowโฆNorth County didnโt get the clean up it deserved! The Army Corps and
@ENERGY
went with Alternative 5. This meant they could save $$ and leave radioactive waste under roads, bridges, and other properties. Alternative 6 would have been removal of everything.
You knowโฆ.I was just sitting outside of the site where she is scheduled to visit. Members of Congress have been trying to get her to meet with us and she refused! Instead she will meet with Congresswoman Bushโs office!
U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm says she hopes to visit a site where radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project contaminated north St. Louis if her schedule permits.
I found something harder than childbirth! Whatโs that you ask!? Applying for a Federal Grant through
@EPAMichaelRegan
@EPA
!! Not just any grant... but one for Environmental Justice! Celebrating Olivia Pope style and watching my
@ghosthunters
show! Fingersโs crossed we get it!
.
@SecGranholm
I was saddened that you refused to meet with myself and other community members about your agencies radioactive legacy while you were in St. Louis. We only wanted 5 minutes of your time . You speak about trust, but this feels very dismissive of our regional needs!
U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm says she hopes to visit a site where radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project contaminated north St. Louis if her schedule permits.
Important point- Itโs not fair to shame any of the parents who sent their kids to school today and attach the narrative that they are not concerned! Childcare is expensive and many lack the ability to take time off work to stay home with their kids. They have no other choice!
Thank you
@rayhartmann
and
@RiverfrontTimes
for publishing this story and including my own words! It was hard to write them a couple of months ago, but I feel lighter emotionally knowing you took them and put them out there.
Congrats to Remington 8th grader Sophie Chapman for being selected to the St. Louis County Youth Council, an advisory board made up of 15 members between the ages of 14-22 years and charged with advising county agencies and the county executiveโs office on issues affecting youth.
Our US Department of Energy knew FOR CERTAIN radioactive wastes were leaking into Cold Water Creek! They had a study done to calculate the number of tons per year leaking from Latty Ave. โAs high as 28 tons per year!โ Look at the date! June 14,1984! Nobody was warned!!
Thank you to all of you who have fought beside us and prayed for us! But we are NOT done! We still have to get this bill through the House! Thank you Senator for standing up for us!
@HawleyMO
Please keep pushing them for this! $1200 is almost 2 months of insulin for my
#Type1Diabetes
son! It might not seem like a lot, but to my family it would get us through the next couple months!
Iโve decided that when trying to keep everyone in my house safe from
#Covid
and fighting a radioactive burning Superfund Site...homemade cookie dough bites for dinner is just fine!
Thank you
@StLouisBlues
for coming to Mercy PICU and visiting today! You really made my little guyโs day and have helped turn a scary diagnosis into an empowering moment!
#type1diabetes
This incredible bi partisan support is going to help put pressure on the US Department of Energy
@ENERGY
to finally clean up ALL of the radioactive sites in this region. They created the waste and they are responsible for it as well as all the harm it has caused!
In October, radioactive waste was found at Jana Elementary, posing serious health risks to our community. The health & safety of our students comes first.
Thatโs why
@SenHawleyPress
& I are urging
@USACEHQ
to test the entire Hazelwood School District for contamination.
.
@BillGates
please take a look at ALL of these people. They need you to clean up your burning radioactive landfill in St. Louis and relocate the people living within 1 mile.
#westlakelandfill
@RepCori
@CoriBush
do you think they knew this was going to happen? Was this part of their plan when they decided to object to President Elect Bidenโs Votes?
So proud of my son for being recognized for outstanding effort in gym class. Gym and exercise in general is tricky with type 1 diabetics and he's really trying hard to navigate his recent diagnosis! Thank you
@PattonvilleSD
#T1D
#Insulin4all
I canโt wait to watch
@CoriBush
take
@ENERGY
to task at a Congressional hearing for poisoning ALL of North County and deliberately working behind a false wall of patriotism and secrecy to cover it up! Time to pull back the curtains and tell the truth!
WOW! Thank you
@MarkforSTL
for acknowledging that those living closest to
#WestLakeLandfill
need to be relocated and given the opportunity to live their lives free of this toxic shadow!
Thank you
@buschvalentine
! Itโs so important to have the support of other moms and health care professionals. We really appreciate your support in this fight to clean up 70 years worth of radioactive nuclear weapons waste created by our
@ENERGY
!
Pt. 1 Thank you
@gbissellKSDK
@ksdknews
@leisazigman
for taking a risk 5 years ago and doing one of the first stories on
#WestLakeLandfill
and waking this community up! You have always been the first ones to jump on any new development!
@buschvalentine
Trudy- would love to hear your stance on the radioactive waste sites in St. Louis and give you and update on what is happening with the clean up at West Lake Landfill.
This is what happens when the
@ENERGY
leaves their radioactive wastes in the floodplain! Now we have a grade school with radioactive bomb waste on their property in the Hazelwood School District!
When people message me and ask why I don't trust the government to have my kids best interests in mind....all I have to say is watch
@atomichomefront
and Google West Lake Landfill and Cold Water Creek! When have they EVER been proactive when it comes to health of anyone?!?!
We know who the losers will be, Senator. It will be the families and businesses adjacent to the landfill. It will be school children across the street and people who drink the water.
Please finish the chapter and sit down.
Backyard distractions are important when you have submersed yourself in documents all week that show that the Department of Energy has left A LOT of radioactive wastes knowingly all over the place throughout North County!
And just like, an amazing person sends a tweet and a hard day turns right around! From emails and texts from friends helping with positive messagingโฆmy frown is turned around! People ask how we keep fighting after over a decadeโฆbecause of the people around us who have us!
Spent Earth Day yesterday touring the toxic and radioactive West Lake Landfill with
@EPAregion7
. Would have been nice if the creator of the wastes
@ENERGY
would have shown up. We are making progress, but need assurances from the Department of Energy.
#EarthDay
I would like to see the full capacity of our top lawyer behind this push. We saw AG Koster step up and sue when the Bridgeton Landfill caught on fire. This suit could be like that one + based off of the fact that the
@ENERGY
has completely destroyed Missouriโs natural resources!
Heโs the ATTORNEY General for a state that was poisoned with radiation by the federal government. He was given documents showing a decades-long coverup, and all he can do is write a weak letter.
Missouri needs an Attorney General who will sue the Department of Energy.
Radioactive wastes were left by the Federal Government
@ENERGY
underneath roads, railroads, and structures! This decision was made in 2005! 17 years laterโฆ many of these areas flooded last week!
.
@SpeakerJohnson
@HawleyMO
Look at all those red spots of radioactive waste in and near back yards along Cold Water Creek!! Also note that the yellow area is UNKNOWN and we are still waiting for results after 75 years! We need RECA NOW!
How about you all go in and clean up the 500+ Uranium mines you left open on their land and support the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act because you made them sick!
Hey
@spire_energy
โฆthanks to your goddamn reckless email, my Friday has been spent explaining everything to your customers living in my community! Whether you are for or against pipelines doesnโt matterโฆ it was RECKLESS of you to send an email out like that!
Speaking from experience, ALL landfillโs need a buffer zone. Things go wrong weekly even with best management practices in place + strictly followed. Iโm puzzled as to why the owner of this proposed landfill would consider putting one in this close to drinking water wells?
Incredible things are happening! Standing together outside the Capital with
@HawleyMO
+
@SenatorLujan
and linking arms with other communities and Senators across the Nation on this was so powerful! From STL all the way to the Navajo Nation and Trinity Test Site residents!
Rallying for justice for Missouri radiation victims! If the government is going to create a disaster, the government should clean it up - they can start by paying the medical bills of everybody in St. Louis who got sick
Bravo!! Fun factโฆwe are now 6 YEARS AFTER
@EPA
made a decision to clean up West Lake Landfill and still donโt have a shovel in the ground!
@ENERGY
has left their waste lying around our region for over 70+ years!
The EPA has ignored the nuclear contamination plaguing working Missourians near St. Louis and the West Lake Landfill for decades.
โYou go look at the cancer rates in the St. Louis region, youโll find them off the charts. . . . This has got to stop.โ
Grant writing is hard! Especially writing one for an issue that has impacted you personally. Having to put your trauma into words on paper in order to justify money to make sure it doesnโt happen to someone else really sucks :(
Thank you
@StengerSTLCo
for helping us get a good decision at
#WestLakeLandfill
we still have the radiation monitor you purchased for us with your own money sitting in a back yard in Spanish Village. You made sure to have a staff member at every single community, EPA, CAG meeting
Thank you
@BigElad
for being there last night + at every meeting. The stories last night were so horrific I couldnโt sleep last night! The
@ENERGY
poisoned this region + these people are desperate for help! Also thank you
@HawleyMO
and
@RepCori
for sending staff and presenting!
I spent last night at the first North St. Louis County town hall on the federal governmentโs radioactive poisoning of the region.
@Justmomsstl
has done amazing work revealing government records showing the coverup. Our Attorney General should be standing with them.
