I understand everyone is having fun making fun of Twitter right now and I don't want to tone police but PLEASE remember to also make fun of the crypto crash happening right now as well.
I think the weirdest part of this AI art thing is this very, very bizarre resentment towards artists. Like these random-ass dudes are mad that someone can sketch with a pen and they can't and it's tearing them apart.
Can we PLEASE normalize creative professionals who also work day jobs? Itโs so harmful and disingenuous to act like if you arenโt creating art full time you havenโt โmade itโ yet.
As we talk about AI art theft. Jet Li turned down a role in the Matrix because all his martial arts moves and techniques would have been digitized and recorded and would have been able to be replicated by anyone and owned by a company and he didnโt find that ethical. He was right
This is why we talk so much shit about AI โartโ. Kim Jung Gi left us less than a a week and AI bros are already โreplicatingโ his style and demanding credit. Vultures and spineless, untalented losers. This sets a horrible precedent.
I know Junji Ito gets much of the credit for being the scariest cartoonist (rightfully so) but man some of Gahan Wilsonโs strips are soooooo fucking scary.
โOh his family is just looking for a paycheck!!!โ No shit. Imagine bringing to life one of the most popular fictional characters of all time that has literally made hundreds of billions of dollars for a company and you and your family having nothing to show for it. Heartbreaking
Wrong. Are really good mechanics born with that talent? Really good plumbers? The problem is most people romanticize art and not view it as labor and something you need to practice and learn to get good at and a job that people get paid to do.
@DaveScheidt
People who are artists were born with that talent. The idea that everyone could be good , you just have to work three times harder is crazy.
@false_rumors
I love the idea of this dipshit having to lug that sign around the entire time just for one single mommy blogger Instagram post. Like she did this for the clout not for her kids.
Obsessed with this person lying about working on a Ghibli film. The best is this part is her making up a line about how impressed Miyazaki was to meet her.
This lady been saying she worked on The Boy and the Heron. Says she prsonally drew 25k frames of the film on her own in Colombia, and that Miyazaki knew her name. Calls herself an ILLUSTRATOR the entire time. Never shows a single drawing. THE BALLS TO LIE.
The news is out! Iโll be making a series with my dude
@KarlJacobs_
and the incredible art team
@kickingshoes
over at
@DarkHorseComics
more details soon but canโt wait to be part of such a passionate and incredible fanbase!!
I honestly think so much of this resentment stems towards that bullshit idea that most artists are naturally gifted and not people who just worked really hard to perfect their craft and develop a way that works for them.
@jacobsartorius
@evergreenqveen
Pay the artist. If you reallly support other artists you'd fire whoever put you in this position. This is a blatant theft.
Here's a great little origin of Spongebob told by Stephen Hillenburg. Sincerity in storytelling is so important and you can tell he really NEEDED to tell this story. His characters are so full of love and life.
What was the weirdest interaction you've ever had with someone at a comic convention? One time a dude asked for my business card and I asked him for what and he got quiet and said "I can't talk about right now"
@pinkfloyd
The person running this social media is getting paid. Whoever thought of this stupid idea is getting paid. Pink Floyd is getting paid. Why would you make an animator or filmmaker work for free? Exposure ain't gonna pay your rent.
If youโre seeing all this

as a fan and wondering what you can do to help as a fan? Talk about the books you love. Subscribe to artists Patreons. Commission artists. Compliment creators more. Leave reviews. Buy your favorite book for a friend. It can go a long way.
Have you seen these men???? If so let them know youโre excited for the TIME TRAVELER TALES comic. Came up with some great stuff last night with
@KarlJacobs_
that you guys are gonna love!!
Iโm seeing lots of losers trying to well actually the
#ComicsBrokeMe
tag but Ian McGinty was the perfect example of how the comic industry takes passionate, loving and excited comic creators and throws them in a meat grinder. He loved to draw and his love and talent was exploited
We would also like to acknowledge the sculptor, and the lovely city where it can be found - Pasquale Rizzoli, Magnani Chapel, 1906, Bologna, Certosa Monumental Cemetery (thanks to Istituzione Bologna Musei | Museo civico del Risorgimento).
It's this really cringe entitlement that really bugs me. No one is stopping you from learning how to write/draw/paint. Miss me with that lame-ass entitlement.
Love this Japanese coffee commercial celebrating the man behind the suit, Haruo Nakajima. The man who brought the King of The Monsters to life.

When you make art and pour your heart and soul and sleep schedule into it you quickly learn there is a huge portion of people who are not interested or passionate or driven to actually create but simply just want the vanity of calling themselves an artist. AI has monetized that
Adobe has made billions of dollars from the comic and art industry then they turn around and hire this huge loser who tried to copyright an AI comic book. Hope they crash and burn.
If comics has taught me anything, it's that there's a huge chunk of people who are obsessed with the idea of being able to tell people they create but have no real drive or passion to actually take the time to make something from nothing.
Martial Arts just like cartooning is far more than just your technique. Itโs your soul, your expression, your years and years of failing and developing your style. Itโs deeply personal. No one is owed a culmination of someoneโs life work.
Artists! Writers! What advice would you give to people looking to honing their craft or even starting from scratch? Anything you wish you knew before you started?
Happy birthday to the incredible queer cartoonist and creator of Moomin, Tove Jannson. Born 107 years ago. She has brought joy to millions and her work will live on.
@KarlJacobs_
has such a great inherent talent for storytelling and itโs so exciting to be part of such a hardcore fandom. You guys are great and I think youโll love what weโre cooking up!!
Stan Lee made an entire career out of walking on the backs of hard working creators who made him look good. Yes he was an important figurehead but wouldnโt be shit without people like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko who he continued to screw over until the very end.
You would think that if someone was SO into the idea of creating art that they would value the thoughts, concerns and opinions of those that dedicate their lives to it instead of being so hell bent on trying to replace them
I also want to remind you that you aren't your creative output. Everyone is struggling right now and it doesn't make you any less of an artist if you are having a hard time creating.
This is especially cringe knowing most comic creators whose work is adapted never m get an invite to these premieres but sure letโs invite the influencers
Comics has always chewed up and spit people out. It continues to happen to this day. Please show some solidarity for the people who create the things you claim to love.
They tried to ban GOOSEBUMPS a lot in the the 90s. This heartbreaking speech from a single dad who is worried that his daughter will end up working a crappy job because the school wonโt let kids read for fun and get them into books is so sad. Apparently this made RL Stine cry.
