I strongly maintain that the 49ers did not mismanage Lance. He may have been the wrong pick at the wrong time, but he was not “done dirty”. There was a plan in place that they followed to the letter, up until the point he got injured and somebody else took the job. That’s sports.

The 49ers signed Trent Williams, George Kittle, and Fred Warner to market setting deals. They spared no expense quickly moving on from bad hires to find the right coach. “They’re cheap” doesn’t hold any water. I’m not sure how else to convey this to people who refuse reality.
