Wind gusts over 50 mph continue to move across southeast Michigan, and have caused extensive damage, including 500 downed wires, as well as broken poles and tree-related damage. We have 1.5k employees and out of state workers in the field currently working on restoration efforts.

As of 10:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, our crews have restored power to more than 150,000 customers and are targeting to have more than 80% of customers restored by the end of Saturday.
Our crews sent in photos of some of the wind damage they are seeing as they work to restore power as safely and quickly as they can. As of 3:30 p.m., they have restored power to thousands of customers since Winter Storm Elliot blew in.

A winter weather advisory will go into effect for southeast Michigan at 1 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 6, and is expected to continue until 1 p.m. the same day. Here are a few safety tips for you to keep in mind:

A special thank you to all our customers for staying patient as we continue to restore power to the communities affected by Friday and Saturday’s storms.
As of 5:30 a.m. Monday, DTE crews have restored power to 70 percent of the nearly 155,000 customers impacted by high winds that whipped through the region today, causing trees and tree branches to take down power lines. About 47,000 customers are currently without power.
