Even on his most challenging days, Brian Stoaks was there for us and our community. (1/2)
The women and men that respond to emergencies in our city are on pace to respond to over 30,000 calls for service in 2021. This breaks the previous record (set last year of 28,416). A big

Meet our newest, most adorable coworker!
Yahtzee was funded by a scholarship from
@StateFarm
and will serve as our first arson investigation canine.
He is highly trained at alerting our investigators to the precise location of fire accelerants.
Our newest member, Yahtzee, earned his kibble Monday and paved the way to an arson arrest.
Yahtzee is an arson dog who joined us this spring, and uses his powerful nose to find fire causes.
Great work by his handler, and the
@DMPolice
detectives who worked this case.
Tonight multiple stations responded to a fire in a mobile home in Des Moines.
There were no injuries, but it's tricky putting out a fire with water when wind chills are below -30.
Thanks to all our firefighters who took care of a tough job in the toughest conditions.

The fire didn't take long to grow.
Our crews responded quickly to put out the fire and manage the scene. No injuries reported.
