We have just finished compiling our interim report on the on the gross human rights violations by the state. According to the report 12 people were killed while a total of 758 were arbitrarily arrested. A total of 5 MPs and 9 councillors were arrested.

Today we have written to the Human Rights Commission and the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission formally complaining about the gross human rights violations against the people. There is also serious abuse of state institutions.

We thank those countries who have offered to reconstruct the damaged infrastructure in Chimanimani. We kindly call upon other countries to follow suit. As Zimbabweans in our diversity we also must put our shoulders on the block and play our part in this.

Presenting the Secretary General's report to the National Executive Committee meeting at MRT Tsvangirai House in Harare today. This was one of our best meetings with really audacious resolutions on the way forward.
