Pella was Colorado's FIRST facility dog in 2012 when she joined the 18th Judicial District. She provided comfort & support to victims on the witness stand over the years. Although she is retired & dealing with some health issues, she stopped by to say "hello" to our staff.
Today is Pella's birthday! She hasn't been in the courthouse much this past year, but like the rest of our office, she is looking forward to getting back to her job of helping victims of crime.
Pella was proud to be the FIRST Courthouse Facility Dog in Colorado in 2012 and paved the way by having her law passed in 2019 (§ 16-10-404). She has worked with hundreds of victims and their families in her storied-career. Today Pella enjoyed her well-deserved retirement party!
