The Beatles have been a constant in my life ever since first discovering them as a music mad teen. I see there’s a new comp coming called ‘We Can Work It Out – Covers of The Beatles 1962-1966’. It got me thinking of my fave Fabs cover versions. These are some of mine… you?

Been a Dexys fan ever since first hearing ‘Dance Stance’. Yesterday saw the release of the Too-Rye-Ay ‘as it should have sounded’ 40th anniversary reissue. To celebrate it’s a Dexys Megamix nxt Saturday. I’ve certainly got my favourites…you?  And what memories do they ignite?

RIP Johnny Nash. Here’s a fantastic photo of him and Bob Marley playing at a school in Peckham in 1972. It was taken by Keith Baugh, the art teacher who invited them there. He tells the story on this lovely clip from The One Show

Not me bestest pic i’ve ever taken but had to tweet as i’m still buzzin’ from seeing @paulwellerHQ at the Forum last night. The band were on 🔥 & as for those songs. I loved the way the set built to a climax with banger after banger. Left with a smile as wide as the Highgate Rd.

My sister and I had the best day yesterday over at my Auntie Christine’s and Uncle Dave’s, rifling through their old photo books and found these two brilliant photographs of each of them. Such style...

Sad to wake up & hear the news of the passing of one of the music greats, Don Everly. I love the Everly’s, ever since being introduced to their music on one of my Dad’s four albums, the soundtrack of That’ll Be The Day. Those voices & those songs…this single was always a fave.

Such sad news to hear. We grew up with you Pele…I can vividly remember my brother and I being so excited as kids about watching and subsequently devouring the 1970 World Cup… thank you for touching our lives with your magic. RIP…
