Absolutely pumped to invite
@CoreyKubbs
back to MVNU! He has officially accepted a position on the Cougar baseball staff. Coach Kubbs is a graduate of MVNU and has been coaching at the NAIA level since then and is "coming home" Welcome back Corey!

Conference Champions. That’s how I will always remember this group. Can’t take it away from us ever! I love this group and wouldn’t change a single thing

The summer recruiting sprint/marathon is finally over for me.
10 weeks/weekends
9000+ miles driven to events in Ohio, Indiana, and Georgia.
Here is to a week long vacation of hitting the beach and golf balls to recover.
How about we put LC in the 8:30am game where they belong, if hosting and an auto bid isn’t enough we just put them in the night cap... and SEU v St. Thomas really 🤔

First competitive golf tournament in 15 years. A top 3 overall and I won my division. Back at it on June 4 at Piqua CC! Hopefully I can get in the winners circle again.
Today I was the substitute teacher for HS PE class today. We played mat ball, did I play yes, did I play like it was game 7 of the World Series yes, am I ashamed not by any means.
This was pretty cool folks. I can remember my dad talking about this hall of fame as a pipe dream. That he would be dead before he would be considered for induction. Congratulations to THE GREATEST high school coach in Ohio history.
Yea this is pretty far from the truth. Self promotion is a good thing. It’s a skill that goes beyond the field, like promoting yourself for a job. I do think we could be a little bit more realistic with who kids are promoting themselves to, but that’s another talk for another day
Self promotion is sickening. Players and parents. I don’t know of one player who has received a scholarship offer from a tweet. Tagging schools and coaches is even more sickening. I am a true believer that in 2021 if you can play, they’ll find you. Period.
Proud of the pitching staff in how we opened up our season!

2 vets gave us quality starts, 1 rookie got a win, and another got a save! It was good to get their feet wet!
2 big wins to start the year, but there is plenty of work to be done

Thanks for allowing me to come out and talk Baseball! It was incredibly nerve wracking to be in front of everyone talking about what I believe helps us find an edge on a daily basis.
What a weekend! Truly an honor to be apart of this journey. A conference title on top of 1100. Thankful for the values and lessons Coach Veale has taught and demonstrated to the MVNU program. He’s the 🐐and it’s not even close. Thank you coach for your influence and leadership
I genuinely don’t know where our program would be over the last 4 years without Cruz. The game always feels like it’s over when he comes into the game. Proud is an understatement. Thank You isn’t enough for all he’s done for this program as a pitcher and leader.

Still have JC transfers and incoming freshman.
Kids better start looking at roster spots because numbers aren’t adding up.
Disappointed our season ended this way, I’m almost at a loss for words. I’m truly devistated for each and every guy in our program. The time they have invested into MVNU Baseball is what makes this program so special.
#RollCougs
Our 2020 season has ended much too soon. It's not often you end a season with a win, but this year's
#RollCougs
do that. Finished (18-6) overall and nationally ranked 22nd.
So proud of what this team had already accomplished on and off the field. Crushed for each one.
The outpouring love & support for me to come home is one of the many reasons I wanted to come back to MVNU. MVNU is life changing because of the people you meet and hopefully this opportunity will allow me to impact players the same way this incredible institution impacted me
Can someone tell Brendan Todd it’s not about him and hit your shot. You’re 10 back of the two guys in your group who are trying to win a golf tournament. Hit your shot and get out of the way
All about development! An area dedicated to our pitchers where they can work on their craft rain or shine! Can’t wait to roll out the turf and get to work on the new mounds
From the freshman that nailed down a bunch of wins to the old man that shouldered the load on offense! So thankful and proud these two were honored for their incredible record breaking seasons!
#RollCougs
The three pronged approach to development.
1. Academic
2. Spiritual and Character
3. Athletic
If you take care of the first two prongs the third takes care of itself. Come develop at MVNU!
#RollCougs
Excellence in the classroom and on the field is what Cougar baseball is all about. As a result, MVNU Baseball has been awarded with the 2020-21 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award! We were 1 of 8 teams to be an academic excellence team and make it to the opening round
#RollCougs
Incredibly proud of this young man! Made 2 starts and he just attacked hitters for 13+ innings. Yielding just 2 runs while punching out 15 and only walking 3.
From Monday: Congratulations to Luke Tucker on being named Crossroads League Baseball Pitcher of the Week! Tucker twirled two gems during MVNU's games in Florida last week!
What a weekend at

I got to see Coach Veale get inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame. I got to spend time with quality men and baseball guys. On top of that, learn from the best in the game.
@TimCorbin
crushed his time in stage and
@Hobbs_38
was a favorite too
I said I was leaving grand park tonight at 10pm. That didn’t happen I’m leaving now. I stayed to watch one kid throw. As he’s about to go into the game the umps call the game due to time limit. So yea you could say I had a great day on the trail.

It’s not your job to keep it close. Keep scoring, play the game the right way until the last out. If the opponent doesn’t like you hitting dingers in 3-0 counts they probably should throw a better pitch
This is a great thread. It’s not just the D1 volly who benefits but the trickle down effect to the smaller college ranks. Maybe someday assistant coaches will make a living wage and not have to work multiple jobs just to get by. Right now that’s not the reality of this profession
For too long, college baseball has been held back by schools not fully committed to it - that's why this compromise proposal attempts to convert volunteer position to full time, instead of just adding a new full-timer & keeping volunteer. But B1G CAN afford it. So disappointing.
Are you an unsigned 2020 or 2021 pitcher or catcher looking for an opportunity to play college baseball? Do you want to have the opportunity to attend an incredible institution that values your development spiritually, academically, and athletically! Here is your opportunity.
First Spring Weekend in the books!
Pikeville battled our pitching staff all weekend & forced us to compete. It was a hard fought 2 W’s
In 24 innings pitched:
Opp BA: .239

We made huge progress from Day 1 in Florida to our last and I’m pumped to see us continue to grow!
I made this statement (less eloquently) last summer and got verbally abused for it by summer ball coaches. Let’s worry about making the HS team, learning the game, and enjoying the game before we talk about college or pro ball.
I know college/pro ball is the dream & recruiting is getting younger but what happened to just enjoying baseball?
Email/social media saying “class of 25/26”. Most players commit their JR/SR of HS. Maybe its just me, but dont speed up the process or you might miss it. Enjoy it
Rephrased it a bit but thank you

After every game I’ve officiated this basketball season I feel like I’m the worst official on the planet. Tonight I turned in my best two games of the season. And there is no better feeling than success when you’ve been failing over and over again.
I see all these kids on twitter getting blown up by trainers coaches & recruiting services saying “they just want an opportunity” What are you doing when that opportunity calls or texts Are you ignoring it because its not the opportunity you want Do you really want an opportunity
Recruits, save the contact info of coaches who contact you! Get to know the school they represent. It will help you be more prepared the next time they contact you!
Kaleb Bauman put together a great effort in relief for

as he pitched 6 innings, allowing just 6 hits and 3 earned runs. He struck out 7!

Recruits & their families need to start asking themselves the question what kind of man am I going to become if I attend this program and university? A major focus in your decision making should be who am I going TO BECOME after 4 yrs of being apart of this program
#recruiting
💭
Over 2,200 college baseball players looking to transfer.
That’s A LOT of:
-bad decision making
-bad advice from “trusted” people
-coaches who back out on players
College is a four year decision that impacts the following forty years of your life. It’s much more than baseball.
2 days of filming. A lot of hours crunching numbers. Excited to dive into the pitch design segment of our off season. Looking forward to the opportunity our pitching staff will have to fine turn their craft this off season
Breaks our hearts to announce that our season is being suspended until April.
Very grateful for
@Crossroads_NAIA
and our administration for not canceling our season. We understand that these decisions are not easy and not everyone will agree on anything.
Excited to get back!
Thank you for having me on! It was a great experience and I hope to do it again! I love getting to talk about MVNU. It’s and incredible place filled with incredible people.

Gibsonburg cant play a schedule with 5 D7 teams on it and have 3 opponents go without a win
Northwood as a D5 team can’t have 7 opponents in D6 or D7 and beat 2 teams with winning record on their schedule & expect to make the playoffs.
Simply not enough points available.
It’s commitment season! There is a right way to handle your business. If any college coach takes time to talk with you give them some respect and tell them your plans. College coaches shouldn’t have to see the breaking news via social media…
Aspiring college players take note...I had a recruit CALL me and TELL me he was going to go juco. No text messages, no call from his coach, no BS, just a young buck manning up and having a tough conversation. Shows a lot about his character!
As a browns fan, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. But I didn’t even get to watch the game or enjoy it. Every time I watch they lose. Another week of not watching... cheers

Chicago so thankful I made the trip. The Speakers crushed it, hot stoves were 🔥, and the times were awesome.
For future reference can we keep the convention in warm weather cities?
@ABCA1945
Thank you for putting this event on!
Man I see all these guys in the NCAA tournament slapping their chests, flexing, yelling, & getting fired up after big plays. Good thing we don’t let it happen in baseball; our sport is some much more energizing and life giving because the old heads still police the game

Wouldn’t be who I am or where I am without Coach Veale’s influence on me during my time at MVNU. He’s a big reason why MVNU will always feel like home to me. I’m thankful for his guidance and passion for developing young men

Friends or teammates? Friends tell you what you want to hear teammates tell you what you need to hear. Be a teammate it’s the best thing you thing can do for your program.
Players with bad attitudes often gravitate toward others with bad attitudes because they love to remind each other why it's everyone else's fault. Don’t be a cancer. Be a great teammate.
Metrics are good for off season and refinement of the craft. When the lights come on and we’re in season it’s all about how many guys can we get out. Period.
Amen! Been trying to put something like this out for a while. Being an assistant at any level besides big time D1 is an absolute grind. I can’t comprehend why we still do this whole song and dance of just figure it out and make it work with assistants. How about we just pay them!
I love coaching college baseball; sadly might be my last year. Need a full-time somewhere. Been hustlin’ the past 4yrs workin 2/3 jobs 6/7 days a week. (Players respect & show love to your asst coaches) we ain’t in it for the money. What’s next🤷🏻♂️ we got a Natty to win first tho!

for 2021 is chill. It’s different from all my other one words because it’s not an outward action. I feel it’s something I need to do more of and I need to be more trusting and letting go of control.
It’s a great event that supports our program! Get a team together, hit a white ball around a field for a few hours, share stories, and most importantly

I believe the young athletes suffering from cardiac arrest who were mandated to get the vaccine would like to have a word with you and ultimately say otherwise.
Everyone 6 months and up should get their updated COVID vaccine. And I especially urge folks 50 and older to get their updated shot like I did.

for 2023 is Thankful. This year I hope to view my life through a lens of what I have and less through the lens of what I don’t have. I find myself looking at the negatives instead of the positives in my life. It’s time to be thankful for what I have in life.
Stare him down, cheer with your homies in the dugout, fist pump, scream yell, get excited, be passionate, but don’t ever direct it at an opponent. That’s not passion that classless ignorance
How bout no, take personal responsibility for your actions, if you choose to go to college and take out the loans then you pay them back. It’s not someone else’s job to fund your lifestyle.

for 2020 is opportunity. I chose opportunity because I want to see opportunities to be selfless. It’s easy to say how does this benefit me; it’s not about getting something in return. It’s about serving and helping others.

@NAIABall
Been to the World Series in 2017. The town is great and supportive. The NAIA already gives them the auto bid, they are playing on their home field why do we need to give them the “prime time” game? We’re trying to decide the national championship. Not best vibe and experience
Can someone explain why Kenley isn’t behind the plate? Like he’s floating around in front of the plate. Not saying he would have save the game but he definitely isn’t in the right spot
Big thanks to

for having me on. I keep going back and watching it and thinking how thankful I am to have come on the podcast and talk about MVNU and my journey so far.
