Best quality of
@zachkapono
: zero entitlement. Respects teammates, coaches, & opponents. Exhibits his respect for the game with a relentless work ethic. Never feels like he's arrived. Always wants to be coached. Never defensive about criticism from coaches, teammates, or fans.
Definition of a great teammate:
Away game bus ride.
@tylerallgeier17
asks what’s the first play of the game? I hand him the call sheet and say your call. He had 25 run plays to choose from. Tyler looks it over and says let’s take a shot, Coach. Throw it deep to Gunner or Puka.
Can’t thank
@coachgrimey
enough for wanting me to be a part of his staff the past three years. I’ve learned so much from him.
@BUFootball
is getting a great coach, great leader, and an even better human being.
Video shot by none other than Rob “Freight Train” Morris. He’s not on Twitter but posting with his permission. Was a privilege to watch Rob and
@kalanifsitake
compete against each other in practice back in the day. Thanks Rob!

It’s impossible to say how much
@JEmpey66
has meant to our program in one tweet. The phrase “coach on the field” can be a cliche that gets used too often but in this case it’s 100% accurate. Great football player. Great leader. Great human being. We will miss you.
@zachkapono
understands all QBs have to re-earn the job every week, every day, every rep. He is always prepared. Film study beyond anything I've ever seen by a college player. I could keep going...

The most rewarding part of my job is the growth of our players in all aspects of their lives.
@pauuneil
is one of the most complete football players I’ve ever seen. Awesome leader. He would do anything we ask and make it look easy. Can’t wait to see what he does with his life.💙
@JT_Vaughan
Wow, what an ignorant statement. I’ve known Tyler since his junior year in high school and coached him for a year at Utah. He is one of the smartest and most dedicated people I’ve ever known.
Competed for the starting job deep into fall camp. He respected how well
@J_tom24
&
@baylorromney
played in his absence in 2019. Understood the importance of earning the job just like everyone else. Embraced competition as an opportunity for our TEAM to improve.
Need someone to block a 280 lb DE?
@pauuneil
is your guy. Need to block a 190lb corner in space? Easy. Get open on 3rd & 7 to move the chains? Done. Jet sweep? Reverse? Yep. Reverse pass? Neil drops dimes. Ball player!! We will miss you
@pauuneil
.
Sione brought positive energy to every situation. It rubbed off on everyone around him. He was humble, kind, hard working, and very funny. He will be missed. Love you Sione.
On behalf of the entire BYU Football family, our thoughts and prayers are with Sione's family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
Rest in Love Sione. God be with you till we meet again.
This is an epic Davante Adams quote on what he tells young receivers to work on during the offseason, but my goodness, does this also apply to life, in general, in the social media age.

This 41-37 win over No. 12 Texas A&M launched a special season for
@BYUfootball
in 1996. I firmly believe that the 1996 team is the most talented in
#BYU
history.

@Brady_BYU
wasn’t a “freak” in high school. He was a tall, skinny kid who was a good, not great, player at any of the three sports he played. Good recruiters saw his potential by watching him play multiple sports. Those sports helped him become the player he is today.
@GrimesMustache
Good question. It’s funny that those uniforms were a bit controversial for being non-traditional...only to be eclipsed by the infamous “bibs” a year later. 😂
