A few months ago a dear friend passed away. He leaves behind a beautiful family who is left to pick up the pieces. Would appreciate it if you’d consider helping them recover with a donation. God bless.
I know
@wojespn
is teflon, but what an irresponsible tweet re: Rudy.
All the players share the same locker room, showers, plane, bus, etc. They’re in constant contact with each other.
To paint Rudy like some malicious evil villain here is a really bad look for Woj and ESPN.
Man, I tell you what ... I don’t work for the Jazz anymore, but I’m about to go crazy on these ass holes attacking Rudy.
Most don’t know how hard he’s worked to find his place in the league. He works his ass off. He loves his teammates. He ONLY wants to win.
Lay off him.
Just got this text from an NBA scout about Jeff Green signing: “Happy for Jeff. He’s now at the point of his career where he’s probably ring chasing a bit.”
“Ring Chasing.” In Utah. WTF is going on.
NBA Players should really steer clear of Utah. You might find yourself playing in the all star game for the first time while representing the team with the best record in the NBA.
If you’re new here, allow me to prepare you for the next 364 days:
BYU fan:
1. There’s no talent gap.
2. We beat ourselves.
3. Refs screwed us. Again.
4. Dumb penalties and turnovers cost us. We were actually the better team.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Hope Jazz fans coming to the game tonight make a little extra noise when Derrick Favors name is announced. Handled himself really well the last few months. Never disengaged, played hard, stayed professional. Quietly putting together a solid season, while staying above the noise.
Jazz fans who went to the team event tonight:
You may think it’s common practice for teams around the league to do this sort of thing.
It’s not.
Too many players around the league have egos that would make it impossible to pull off.
This is a special group. Enjoy.
-Not getting swept matters.
-Showing heart in front of your home crowd who’ve supported you all year matters.
-Proving the gap between you and the Rockets isn’t the size of the Grand Canyon matters.
-Donovan closing in the 4th vs an elite coach and two HOFers matters.
Good win.
Jazz fans deserve so much better than
@ATTSportsNetRM
. Unbelievable how an NBA team in 2020 has such an inept broadcast partner. Such a joke.
It’s not that hard. Figure it out.
In 1997, the Knicks were screwed by the NBA. Ewing was suspended for putting one foot on the court vs Heat. A total of 5 Knick players were suspended.
Westbrook steps on the floor, and INITIATES altercation with Rudy?
Get his autograph while you’re at it,
@NBA
. Just pathetic.
Wow. Jazz win 107-95. Garden is stunned. No Gobert, no Favors, slow start by Donovan. Quin out coaches the guy who Hayward left Utah for. Postgame next on

I absolutely love the way Donovan just acts like he belongs. Scoring, playmaking, defending, leadership. He has it all. And his teammates recognize it, and allow him to lead. As a rookie. It's so rare. And it's incredibly fun to watch. What a win.
Scoring 40 + pts in an NBA game is an insane achievement.
Scoring 46 pts in an NBA game when you’re the CLEAR # 1 option vs a team who’s coach is a mastermind and has the odds on favorite to win MVP is beyond special.
He’s yours, Jazz fans. Enjoy the moment.
After being cut by the Clippers, Joe Ingles kept working and betting on himself, and this week will have passed John Stockton (3 pt shots made) and Pete Maravich (career assists) in the Utah Jazz record books.
What an amazing story.
Jeff Van Gundy also said today he’s killing time having a FT shooting contest with his brother, Stan. Since neither of them know how to video on their phones, they take turns shooting 30 FT’s a piece and then call each other with the results. Jeff won the first round 26-22.
It’s official. I’m back with
@espn700
. It’s been a long journey, but I couldn’t be more excited.
I’ll be hosting afternoon drive, M-F 2:00 - 6:00. We get started next week.
Special thanks to all of my friends and…
A very noticeable chant of “Let’s go Lakers” has broken out here at the arena coming from all the fans who cheered for the Warriors for the past six years.
That’s a helluva season. Jazz fans have a ton to look forward to. Thrilled for Quin, Dennis and Steve. Three of the best in the business, and three incredible men. Until next year.

GUIDELINES:
When Kobe was here for the final time as a Laker, he made it a point to search for Jerry Sloan to offer his respects after he heard coach Sloan wasn’t well. Not the greatest photo, but I was able to capture this…
Political affiliation aside, I gained a ton of respect for Mitt Romney today.
Standing up for what you believe in a world as cold, unethical and dishonest as politics must be an awfully lonely place.
Mitt is a good man. He will weather the attacks and be fine.
Rant over.
Jazz organizational ethos of staying silent is admirable, and often, effective. It’s been around for generations.
But someone needs to speak up. Dennis, JZ, Quin ... someone. Rudy is taking an absolute beating. Don is staying silent. Comes across as Rudy on an island. Bad look.
Conversation with my Uber driver here in LA:
Me: “So, you’re a Lakers fan”?
Uber driver: “Oh hell yes, but I love the NBA in general. Basketball is my life.”
Me: “Cool. What do you think about the Jazz”?
Uber Driver: “IDK. Jamal Murray seems like a real ass hole.”
Me: ...
Doc Rivers announces the Clippers will rest a healthy Kawhi Leonard tonight vs the Jazz.
In October.
On national TV.
It’s the second week of the season and this load management stuff already sucks.
Utah sports fans:
Would be great if we could go one weekend without a college football player’s mother feeling the need to stand up for her son because one of you sent a racist or derogatory tweet.
You’re making this great state look awfully foolish. Think before hitting send.
Rudy Gobert was treated like a circus freak at the combine. Teams didn’t know what to do with him.
He’s now a two time all star and three time Defensive Player of the year.
Tell your kids about Rudy Gobert.
Two weeks in the books. So far:
-Ute fans hate me for talking BYU and Jazz.
-BYU fans hate me, well, because they kind of always have.
-Jazz fans are mad at me for not talking enough hoops.
-RSL fans still think I don’t like soccer.
I’m having an absolute blast. 🙏🏻
Jeff Van Gundy told me today the best four teams in the NBA in his opinion are:
1. Warriors
2. Rockets
3. Celtics
4. Jazz
Went on to say the Jazz are in the best position to take the throne when GSW starts to fade.
Full interview coming soon.
Rudy is so good. I often wonder how many fans really understand what a difference maker he is. I don’t know how many players I’d take to start a franchise before I’d pick him.
If he doesn’t make the All-Star team this year, I’ll broadcast a week of live remotes without pants.
Jimmy Butler on Donovan Mitchell: "That kid can play, man. He can shoot it, he's athletic, he guards. He plays with a chip on his shoulder. I'm a fan for sure."
Rudy Gobert is the third best player in Utah Jazz history and a remarkable success story. Best of luck to a guy who gave everything to this team and market from the day he landed here.
I’ve been around this league my entire life. That’s as cold blooded a game winner as I’ve ever seen. Step-back from 37 feet? Gimme a break. You a bad boy,
@Dame_Lillard
. Filthy.

@briangriese
just now on ABC:
“Utah has the best defense in the nation. Better than Georgia, better than LSU. Nobody in the country has a better defense than Utah.”
Donovan Mitchell, grinning ear to ear, is embraced by his teammates as he knocks down two free-throws for pts 40 and 41. Cool moment. What’s not to like about this kid?
The NBA will not be fine or suspend Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert for his actions leading up to testing positive for the coronavirus, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.
I’ve always had an unpopular opinion on this.
I know refs call games differently down the stretch. Got it
But I truly think it’s bull shit. If it’s a foul with 9 minutes left in the 1st qtr in a 18 pt game, it’s a foul with 3 second left in a tight game.
Period.
On a serious note, so happy for Mike Conley. A well deserved reward for a consummate pro who’s always done things the right way.
Jazz are lucky to have him.
Still think Dennis and Justin have one more semi-major move up their sleeves. Jazz are now one piece away from having potentially the best 1-8 roster in the west.
Still need another shooter.
Wow.
I’m aware we’re split on many political issues in this state, but I figured “giving food to kids” was one issue we all could agree upon.
I don’t know who this David Hinkins dumb shit is, but he can absolutely, positivly, fuck right off.
“Parents should be parents,” Sen. David Hinkins said during Wednesday’s hearing. “I mean, my mother fixed my breakfast; my wife fixed my kids’ breakfast.”
Finalists for the NBA awards will be announced tonight. Quin deserves a hard look for COY, Donovan for ROY, and Rudy for DPOY, but the award that nobody is talking about may be the biggest no-brainer of them all.
Dennis Lindsey is, far and away, the NBA Executive of the Year.
Worth pointing out that Derrick Favors is quietly putting together a very solid year, specifically on offense. I don't know what the Jazz do with him, but he's stepped while being linked to every trade rumor imaginable. Guy deserves some respect.
This is the last year Alex Jensen will be an assistant coach. He will be running the show next year for a very lucky franchise.
Alex is a phenomenal basketball mind who’s beyond paid his dues.
Jazz fans need to know how lucky we’ve been to have him here.
"Two Time, Two Time, Two Time, Two Time, they spun him around like the coyote in the roadrunner cartoon and he still blocked it. INSANITY.

I applaud the Jazz for banning that idiot, and still think Russ was out of line.
I’ve been to as many Jazz games as anyone over the years and can attest to the fact that Jazz fans can, at times, be entirely out of line.
But that hardly makes Jazz fans an outlier. Let’s be fair.
After a summer of real heartbreak, Dennis Lindsey was able to turn Trey Lyles into a kid who gives all Jazz fans reason to hope. I don't know who Donovan Mitchell is in five years, but I'm pumped to find out. He could own this city.
