How it started (2005) vs How it's going (Present)
Never give up on your dreams. Put your head down and keep working! Let the process do its course and the perfect opportunity will come.
No hoops? No problem! We got the tackle wheels! Another creative way to work on bending and staying tight around the edge on pass rush.
See the hand flash, stay tight with the swipe, decreasing surface area from offensive blocker. Emphasize pointing the toes I/S and work tight.
Big thanks to the

Every position coach has an everyday drill. Whatโs mine? HIPS ON A CAN. Essential for working the hips in creating fluidity during pass rush. What is your everyday drill?!?!

Why Carleton? Because of the doors of opportunities that we open for our students here! Not everyone will go on to play professional football. So my question is what else will you do to set yourself up for the next 40 years?
#KeepStackin
Throughout my coaching journey, I heard the noise. "He can't coach", "Won't make it". Years later, here I am doing what I LOVE still! Point is, don't ever allow anyone to tell you what you are incapable of. Keep your head down, work hard, and the rest will take care of itself!
We don't just recruit the best ball players but the best and brightest student-athletes as well!
-Great ACADEMICS!
-Great FOOTBALL!
What are you waiting for? Why not choose to be part of something special here? It's not about the next 4 years, but the next 40!

At approximately 12:30am, my father passed away. Words canโt describe the pain that our family is going through at this moment in time. Thank you to all who are providing us with your support during these difficult times. Dad, I love you then, I love you now. Mus zoo koj dad.
Always tough during this time of the year. Wish pops was still here but I find solace that heโs in a better place. Cherish your love ones and donโt forget to tell them you love them.
Advice for recruits when making a highlight film:
1. Highlight where you are on the field AT THE BEGINNING OF PLAY!
2. DO NOT SLOW DOWN THE FILM!
3. Have good camera angles relative to position. Example, if you a DB, ZOOM OUT.
4. Don't put a highlight that's been cutoff!
Spring Ball Practice DLine Drill Work: L-Step
Emphasis: Footwork
Explanation: Teaching them to plant off their initial step and redirect vs Zone Blocks
Coaching Point: Try to keep eyes up and shoulders square.

The first of many difficult years ahead. Today marks the 1-year anniversary of my fatherโs passing. Not a day goes by that we donโt miss you pops. Hope you enjoyed the food we brought you today. Never take anything for granted in life and cherish your love ones closely.
Do the work everyday. You have to do something you don't want to do. Everyday challenge yourself to be uncomfortable, push past apathy, laziness and fear. You are battling between who you are now, who you want to be, and where you want to go. Fight for your greatness today

Today, we remember. My uncle, one of the bravest and most kind-hearted individuals I know. Although it's been years, we still miss you. Thank you for all you did during your short time here. The big brother I never had dating back to our HS ball days. โLeft side! Strongside!โ

Hips! Hips! Hips! A simple day-to-day drill that we do during pass rush emphasis period. Overemphasize flipping those hips around the cans.
Hips and hands work like strings altogether. The more violent flip=heavier strikes, less violent=not so heavy strikes.
One of my favorite D-Line pre-practice drills: Get-offs.
1. Regular Stance
2. React to ball movement
3. Shoot your hands, pad level low, NAIL it
4. Sprint for 5, run it back.
On a side note, my other favorite part of the drill? Drawing your players offsides! Right

Happy 58th Birthday to my old man. Weโve been through our ups and downs together but just know that Iโll always love you pops. Make today a good one!
Want to take this moment to thank everyone for the beautiful messages offering support and condolences during this challenging time in our family's lives. Nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of a love one so unexpectedly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.

EDD=Block Recognition
It is important to incorporate block recognition as a EDD drill with the DL. Here, we work on reading base, down and pass set. DLโs backs to me, OL looks at me, I give OL the block I want them to execute, DLโs eyes need to key near shoulder tip. #

HIGH-WALL DRILL
DL start in a fit position on either side. I yell out 3-verbal cues:
1. FEET- DL feet start moving
2. NAIL-Lock out
3. FINISH-Get skinny, climb the ball and hip back on down block to finish through.

๐ฏ agree! As a D3 school, dealt with many kids that did the same because they werenโt interested in โD3โ. Many never got the โbig time offerโ they were waiting for until it was too late. Be realistic with expectations and donโt ignore the college coaches that want you!!
No matter what adversity you face, remember that YOU ARE STILL in control of the decisions that you will make moving forward. No pandemic should continue to stop you from being the best version of you!
