Trump campaigned that he would not cut Social Security or Medicare. The Dems, he said, wanted to destroy it. He is now talking PERMANENTLY cutting the funding that pays for these important programs. THIS IS A VERY BIG DEAL.
Jim Cramer's apology: "I made a very stupid comment. It was a tongue-in-cheek attempt to make a point about the harsh tone about the negotiations in Washington but it fell completely flat and I apologize for that." Video here
I just deleted my 2:30 am alarm on my phone, but I will still be watching. Shout out to the amazing producers and writers who put it all together every night.
The tax bombshell shows the president is a) adept at losing money b) the system rewards rich people who lose a lot of money and c) the average citizen has paid more to support America’s military, roads, schools and democracy than he has.
Folks this jobs report should have their hair on fire in Congress. It’s not rocket science. The economy is fragile. The coronavirus is not contained. We risk deep financial scars to jobless workers and families.

Context for min wag debate. These jobs are no longer a starter job for teenagers or recent immigrants. More than half are adults, 25-54. 28% have children. Nearly 6 in 10 are women, supporting a family on two-part time jobs, with two commutes and childcare challenges.
If I had a dollar for every time I reminded the president that China does not pay tariffs, I could close the trade gap myself. Importers and consumers pay tariffs.
Why is this even a debate? CDC recommends masks. Public polls show support for mask-wearing. It shows you care about your community. And it is temporary.

Serious "deep thoughts" question. What constitutes a "suburban housewife" in 2020? I mean, I have three kids. I live in the suburbs. But I work. So does my partner. And no one I know has been "invaded." Can someone tell me where this is happening? Asking for a

These anniversaries are always hard for me. I write for a living but can never find the words. I remember every minute of that morning in slow motion. The days that followed are one long continuous moment. Even today when I glance downtown from Soho, I see a ghost.

Another 745,000 Americans filed for first-time unemployment benefits on a seasonally adjusted basis last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday. It was a slightly smaller number of claims than economists had expected, but up from the prior week.
