Today I sat on a stage with many wonderful comrades and listened to Jeremy Corbyn’s voice break when he thanked the crowd for their solidarity and support.
The demonisation of this man has been the biggest and most vile assault on a truly decent politician.
It ends now.
The thing about working with
@jeremycorbyn
is that this is him.
All day everyday.
No show, no bluster just a huge amount of knowledge, empathy and a natural instinct towards justice.
Historically informed, erudite and pragmatic from
@jeremycorbyn
here. The kind of qualities I want in a politician, and a Prime Minister.
But in the Westminster rat run they are more likely to make you a lonely outsider.
I was deeply moved listening to the
@jeremycorbyn
interview for channel 4 yesterday but I also had a moment of sorrow for who now leads this party and for how afraid they made people feel of socialism.
There was never anything to fear here.
I’m 100% sure that if Assange was given a fraction of the media spotlight that the Depp/Heard trial received he would be released immediately.
Exposing crime is not a crime.
Leaving him to rot in jail is.
I have been proud to support you for years. Have been honoured to work with you. And now I’m in awe of your often lone voice, leading our international community with humanity, justice and dignity.
Thank you
@jeremycorbyn
We won’t ever forget where you stood. ✊🏼
If you spent that past few years smugly telling us that Corbyn was a danger and a threat too far, then you enabled this lying, cheating, molesting gang of criminals to take hold of this country and strip it to the bone financially, morally and politically.
You were wrong.
Crazy how distressed the media are about Starmer being smeared yesterday
None of them had anything to say, and in fact we’re complicit in, the onslaught of lies and abuse faced by Corbyn.
Reports of the death of British nationals – among others from World Central Kitchen – in an Israeli strike on Gaza are horrifying. Our thoughts are with the families of all of those killed.
And in the spirit of transparency here is a text to me from
@Keir_Starmer
: ‘Congratulations on your elevation to the House of Lords. All best wishes, Keir.’
For those interested,
@jeremycorbyn
has put on record his disgust at Zahawi's comment. But, consideration of any legal action is always balanced against how much the would-be defendant is worthy of the attention it will bring or Jeremy's limited time...1/2
The
@corbyn_project
and
@jeremycorbyn
have been so touched by the work that
@Depheruk
is doing for the most vulnerable in our society, we have made a small donation of £1000. Thank you for what you do. You are heroes. ❤️
Today
@jeremycorbyn
and the
@corbyn_project
had a meeting with
@GabrielShipton
and John Shipton to discuss Julian's case.
It was poignant and powerful to witness the relentless and focussed way this family are fighting for their loved one.
No one is free until Julian is free
Can there be a clearer example of the problem the left have had to deal with over the last few years than
@EuanPhilipps
faking a “Jewish” name to make complaints about left wing Jews.
This is the weaponisation of anti-semitism
This morning I joined the
@RMTunion
picket at Newcastle Central Station to stand in solidarity with striking railway workers defending their jobs, pay and conditions.
Victory for those taking action this week will be a victory for all working people.
I’ve never blacked up my face, I’ve never drawn on a hitler moustache, I’ve never done a nazi salute, I’ve never mocked someone’s natural hair, I’ve never stood next to anyone wearing anything that glorifies nazi’s…
But it’s the hard left that has the problem…🙄
If there is one thing we can rely on
@jeremycorbyn
for, it’s that he won’t be cowed by his critics in Parliament or the media. He has always fought tirelessly against racism of all forms and for a fairer, more just society
Join our movement
@corbyn_project
Firstly there was the nazi uniform that wasn't…
Secondly there was the star on the pig that didn't exist...
Thirdly there was the denigration of Anne Frank that didn't happen...
I went to the show. I saw a powerful anti-fascist, anti-hate, pro-love piece of radical art.
While a terrible and desperate situation has been unfolding in Ukraine, the Labour leadership have decided to wage their own petty factional war on the left of their own party. THREAD
My second tweet was an explicit critique of Putin
@paulmasonnews
But I guess that might be difficult to grasp when you’ve been swept up in the thrill of the war rush 🤷🏻♀️
In this case it looks as if Zahawi has managed to very successfully diminish his own reputation and political career prospects all by himself.
Please don't think we aren't fighting.
We are.
And we won't stop. 2/2
I’m guessing that there just isn’t that much in the news for Keir Starmer to focus on right now apart from purging Labour of its socialists.
It’s not like we’re being led through a pandemic by a bunch of psychopaths or anything.
It’s deeply unnerving how they’ve orchestrated this total assault on our movement, our moment and our collective memory.
They talk about the dark days, I remember the hope.
They talk about a return to traditional values, but they won’t stand on a picket line.
As someone who works closely with Jeremy this is deeply offensive and so misjudged it’s laughable.
But, more offensive than this statement is the desire to divide women over their politics when what is needed is unity and strength. Let’s rally against predators not each other.
It is not the left who holidayed with Putin’s billionaire friends;
It is not the left who went to the opera with Putin;
It is not Jeremy Corbyn who cosied up to a regime that has no identifiable motivation beyond money, power and bloodshed.
I’m pleased to announce the new Peace and Justice Project, bringing people together for social and economic justice, peace, and human rights in Britain and across the world.

The first black female MP
The longest serving black MP
A proud socialist MP
This is the kind of Queen who should have a park named after her 👑
@HackneyAbbott
Massive thank you for the messages of support. I promise we won't let you down. We will build this together from the ground up!

#TheCorbynProject
wreathgate was the height of the press' Corbyn-hysteria and misinformation when Jeremy's commemoration of the victims of an Israeli atrocity was recast as a celebration of a terrorist atrocity.
Can you believe what awful scum Corbyn supporters are when they backed each of his lies? At first he said he wasn’t at the wreath laying for racist terrorists. After this photo he said he was “present but not involved.” Yeah, like the man just carrying matches to the KKK cross
The Labour Party has been infected with a pro war madness.
What about our commitments to the thousands of children living in poverty, the workers being exploited by their employers or the environmental catastrophe that looms ahead…
Labour is the party of NATO. In government we will implement a ‘NATO test’ in our first 100 days to make sure Britain meets in full our commitments the Alliance
After this very moment the Labour Right went to court to legally prevent Jeremy Corbyn being on the ballot.
Proud to have led the legal team that defeated that.
To be clear:
The way
@jeremycorbyn
has been treated by the Labour Party is beyond disgraceful.
The allegations that have been made about this anti-racist are beyond offensive.
The only people incapable of introspection and decency are these absolute ghouls
It is pathetic.
According to
@politico
Angela Rayner insists "Corbyn photobombed her by sliding into the shot [on the left] unnoticed" & "she did not know he would be there in advance and did not talk to him"... yet she then posed for the shot on the right!
Such cowardly and pathetic behaviour.
In honour of
#InternationalRomaDay
here are my great grandparents who were Romani. I’m very proud of them and how hard working and loving they were. We must stand together to protect our minority communities from abuse and judgement. ✊🏼
Boris Johnson tonight on the BBC "I've given you the most important metric which is, never mind life expectancy, never mind cancer outcomes, look at wage growth."
I beg to differ! Ghastly appalling disregard for our people.
@lmharpin
Only to Corbyn I’m afraid.
Without you keeping the name alive, I’d be worried that people on here would stop caring. Thank you comrade Lee for your services to socialism.
This is Jeremy at his best.
You may not agree with
@jeremycorbyn
and his politics but isn’t it striking knowing you’re listening to an MP speak from the heart, speak his truth, and fight for what he genuinely believes in:
Peace and Justice 🕊️
Congratulations to Carrie and Boris Johnson on the happy news that they’re expecting another child. I’m very sorry to hear of Carrie’s earlier miscarriage. I'm sure that her speaking out will be of comfort to others. Every best wish to them both.
He and his colleagues know full well that Corbyn and left MPs are not Putin shills, but they have chosen to push that narrative for their own narrow political advantage. The abuse that MPs like Zarah Sultana have since suffered is collateral damage as far as they are concerned.
There are reports in parts of the Tory-supporting media that Boris Johnson faces a backbench revolt over the upcoming £20 a week Universal Credit cut
Now is the time to keep speaking up against the inhumane cut - which will greatly increase poverty and inequality.
#CancelTheCut
I’m double vaccinated but down with Covid. It really is no joke. I’ve been aching and coughing for three days and now chest pains and headaches…
Please be mindful as you get closer to Xmas and NY. This is no fun. 😷
Emma Briant has blocked me. 🙄
So if someone could ask her this…
Presumably if it’s a hack, that means the emails are authentic. So can you clarify whether you did indeed ‘tip off’
@paulmasonnews
about activities of ‘rogue academics’?
There are different kinds of factional journalists. There are the subtle but effective ones, who write for the Guardian; there are the shameless ones, like the easily spotted Wearmouth; and then there's Lee, who would be more use to his faction if he worked in a phone repair shop
Sat and heard
@lukeakehurst
accept only a few days ago that Labour’s NEC is tackling complaints of antisemitism, anti black racism, Islamophobia, anti Hindu, anti Sikh and anti trans and anti Roma nature. The hierarchy of racism claim is a myth, whipped up by factional frauds.
Big part of our national problem. A press whose bias/double standards mean a totally distorted picture of the country and its failings. A broadcast media which allows its agenda to be set by that biased press. David’s question is absolutely right. There would be media meltdown
Lord Rothmere has added another publication to the (already massive) Daily Mail portfolio after purchasing the renowned New Scientist magazine for £7m:
We've only just gone live and we've already had thousands of messages of support. Watch some inspiring campaigners say why they're supporting the Peace and Justice Project here - then join us.
There are lots of things a healthy media would be challenging Mandelson on, from his politics to his pals.
But we have a dying media, and the last breath on its lips will always be Corbyn.
It was the only time the walls started to shake.
The 'immediate result' of Jeremy Corbyn getting the Labour whip back would be that the public 'lose faith both in Keir Starmer and the Labour Party', believes Lord Peter Mandelson.
What do you think of his stance?
@AndrewMarr9
❌ the leader who restored labours finance
❌ the leader who forced unprecedented Tory government u-turns
❌ the leader who won more votes than Blair’s last two election victories
❌ the leader who did more to fight antisemitism and all racism than anyone else
@jeremycorbyn
Just received this Lib Dem leaflet. They spend a fortune on this sort of drivel and are known for always playing dirty. Anyone who votes for them needs their head examining.
Imagine believing that uncritically supporting a Labour leader who broke all commitments to socialist policies, offered ZERO opposition to disastrous government polices and has repeatedly lied to voters is just about us 'not letting shit go'
Oh yeah, ofc, we’re back to your fervent obsession with the idea that the left deny Russian war crimes. We’ve all seen your emails pondering why people on the left haven’t “actually” been denying war crimes, a serious problem for your theory.
@revoswine
@paddyoverall
@RishiSunak
Tell that to the trade union members whose jobs rely on a well funded defence industry - sorry lads, 2022 is the year when Stalinists stop getting to define who is "left" ... there's nowt more right wing than supporting dictators
and also knowing that by calling out this travesty, the left would be accused of focusing on infighting, turning reality on its head. Worst of all has been the insinuation is that the left are pro-Putin: a horrendous, inflammatory and dangerous slur.
Sending all solidarity and congratulations to Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi and her election onto the NEC
I worked with Naomi at
@JVoiceLabour
and she is a true comrade and ally.
How
@margarethodge
can attack a Jewish woman with different politics to her is beyond me.
This is a disappointing result, especially for Jewish Labour members & the Jewish community. But
@Keir_Starmer
has worked tirelessly to rid our party of antisemitism. I have complete faith that he & the party will not let this set us back. This journey was always going to be hard
It isn't the most important reflection on the death of Shireen Abu Akleh, but
@paulmasonnews
is a journalist like her, is pro-Palestinian and is in no doubt sickened by her killing in illegally occupied land. So it astonishes me that he regards apologists for the occupation...
Out of all of the desperate and awful things to focus on right now
@paulmasonnews
has decided he’s best placed to monitor the twitter output of
@STWuk
Almost like the whole thing is political…
We've had 48 hours of horrific evidence coming from Kyiv's northern suburbs - significantly changing the character of the conflict - but
@STWuk
hasn't made any comment about the atrocities. Almost like the whole thing is an abstraction ...
The party used the Stop the War statement as a way to isolate MPs who stand firmly on the left of the political spectrum. On the media today, David Lammy accused Jeremy Corbyn of “parroting” Putin’s lines.
