So I got an Uber tonight. Driver was doing 35mph in a 20mph limit.
“You know it’s a 20mph speed limit don’t you?”
“Yes, but it’s fine this time of night, there’s nobody about.”
Sigh. Driver reported to Uber, who can verify his speed using their trip data.
Nearly ran over a cyclist this evening! They were wearing dark clothing, had no bike lights and I could hardly see them.
He was wearing a pair of Armani jeans, a Calvin Klein jacket, a pair of Dr Marten’s and riding a dark blue Specialized Allez with a 105 Shimano groupset,
A man is cycling north towards the North Circular in Walthamstow, completely ignores the cycle lane.
The driver awards him "bell end of the year award."
The vigilante motorists are at it again. They just don’t like it when they can’t have things their way. Middle aged lonely virgin men throwing temper tantrums like spoilt children.
The sense of self-entitlement is staggering. Why should the taxpayer have to mop up after them?
News: The war between residents in Greater London and micro Mayor Sadiq Khan is moving apace. From the use of filling foam, telescopic ladders, angle grinders, stickers, paint, wire cutters, blow torches, sharpie pens, film over license plates, false license plates, stick on…
So instead of acknowledging dangerous driving (a very close pass) and apologising, a company just sent me a trademark violation letter, for using their trademark on one of my YouTube videos.
We're going to be having fun with this one. Watch this space. :)
OK. Just finished up in Hyde Park.
Between us, we caught 154 mobile phone drivers, in the space of 2-3 hours.
That’s more than we all thought.
Good work all! :)
Wow. Chased by an angry Porsche driver tonight. Had to take evasive action. He tried to grab me (assault), having just close passed me on the INSIDE. Will wait to see what the Met have to say, probably won’t be able to post up the vid for a while.
If you can’t see someone in bright neon green with flashing lights next to your car window, can you honestly say you’re not distracted by using your mobile phone?
#mobilephonedrivers
Why does some of the tax I pay go toward building and maintaining roads for cars to use?
I don’t want to subsidise motorists. They can pay for their own roads.
Wow. Caught TWO black cab drivers one behind the other, both using their mobile phones whilst waiting at a taxi rank, engines running.
The Met have sent off letters to identify the drivers involved, and I have dropped TFL a note as well.
A few bad eggs letting the trade down. :(
Just heard back from the Met about a court case a few weeks ago. 6 points and over a £1000 in charges, for using a mobile phone whilst stuck at a red traffic light.
Why do people do it?
If someone has covered up their front and rear numberplates with badly stuck on plastic bags, is it wrong to pull the back one off whilst the car is stopped in traffic? Worth posting up the footage?
After much thought and deliberation, I’ve decided to give up my GoPro and no longer submit footage of drivers to the police. The stress and hassle is too much, and it’s just not worth it. I do hope others can get cameras and take my place.
Bye all,

They last few times I’ve done it, they’ve checked the trip time, and then refunded the fare. Drivers will soon learn as they don’t get paid when they speed.
The anti-cyclist culture only seems to exist on social media and the mainstream press. The majority of drivers are law abiding, decent folk with road safety at the top of their agendas.
But… just takes one…
This was a lady helpfully telling me I should keep to the left of the road, the driver having just sounded their horn and slowing down so their passenger could lean out the window and deliver an in-motion lecture.
#wankpanzer
in Kingston this morning. Driving like that and just expecting people to get out of your way, is infuriating. All he had to do was wait 3 seconds. But no! He can do what he wants in a Mercedes AMG
#LT63OAZ
as we are all his subjects and he's King of the Road!
My invisibility cloak is working well. If you're parked and need to set off, don't forget to indicate and let other road users know your intentions. Don't just pull out anyway and hope for the best.
I mean, why would you want to get anywhere in a hurry on a country road? There are motorways and A roads for that. These should default to residential speed limits.

I’ve lived in the New Forest and Oxfordshire, and cycled, walked and rode horses on roads like the ones he described 🚴♀️ 🐴 🚶🏼♀️
It’s terrifying and totally unnecessary to have 60mph limits in rural villages 👇
And why doesn’t that make headline news? It’s all just normalised, happens every day, and the media only care about 4 cyclists being caught running a red light. Despite uninsured drug drivers posing a much much bigger risk. 🤷
Vehicle stopped in Guildford by
#VanguardRST
as it was showing as having no insurance. Once stopped, the driver provided a positive
#DrugWipe
for cocaine, which was a surprise to the driver as they had "only had cannabis that day". Driver arrested and vehicle seized.
#Fatal5
Had a chat with the Met, and they’ve seen an unprecedented rise in camera submissions this year.
Looks like a few concerned road users got dashcams or cycle cameras for XMas.
We can’t be everywhere, but we can be anywhere.
Please use the roads safely and take care out there!
The vast majority of video footage sent to the police, concerning road traffic incidents, is from motorists using dashcams.
But when a cyclist submits footage?
All hell breaks loose.
I guess only those that “pay road tax” are allowed?
A few people have asked why I weren't in the
#priorylane
cycle lane. It's coz a car is. For football fans, this would otherwise be known as an "own goal".
This chap accepted 3 penalty points and a £100 FPN.
…and today? Witness intimidation, from two cabbies that appear to be using their real names on Twitter.

Why are you tailgating them? Keep your distance FFS. Especially when you’re clearly distracted whilst handling a video capture device of some sort.
21mph in a 30mph limit? A bit on the slow side, but I can’t see anyone holding up the flow of traffic? Plenty of space to overtake?
Classic lines, such as "You were so close I thought you were going to scratch my car", "Some of us have got work to go to"; and nearly dooring a passing stunt cyclist.
I looked around for the scriptwriter, being quite near
@Rosetheatre
, as surely you can't make this shit up?
@MikeyCycling
I am always respectful of cyclists on the public road when there is no option for us but to share it. I do have an issue with being stuck behind cyclists on the road when there is an option of a properly maintained cycle lane for them to use. What are your thoughts on this?
What you've all been waiting for! This chap had both his front and rear VRMs covered up with plastic bags. Car is ULEZ compliant, so looks to be congestion charge avoidance. Which is even weirder, as it was past 18:00. Didn't look like a boy racer either.
Strange things afoot...
Another reason why to consider riding primary. Take the lane when coming up to a narrowing in the road ahead, otherwise arseholes like this will take the space. Give them an inch, they'll take a mile.
I need to get a bigger helmet camera so people can see it. This rider stopped alongside me, told me to stay on the left, then said he was going left. Then he went left. Those eagle-eyed football fans will no doubt miss the point entirely, and focus on the unlawful cyclists. Go.
Half the reason I post this stuff up, is because of crap like this. Cycle lanes offer NO protection. Swearing removed. Dangerously close passed, for just being in the road. 3 penalty points and a £100 fine weren't enough.
Close pass of the day. I've a feeling this one will prickle the feathers of my troll fan base... but a close pass, is a close pass. Paint is no excuse. Reported, S172 inbound.
To balance things out a little, I reported TWO cyclists going through a red light today.
The Met aren’t interested and said they have more important things to do, and won’t be taking any further action on this occasion.
Coming up to a pinch point and a junction. Better let him go I guess? Ignored a pedestrian waiting at the next zebra crossing too. The sense of self-entitlement and lack of road safety awareness, will be taken up with the company involved, as this was written on the side. Sigh.
On narrower roads, riding in the middle of the lane is safer. Drivers often indicate late (if at all!), and you need to be able to anticipate. Take extra care when overtaking, as there may be other road users wanting to come out of the junction that don't give a shit either.
ANGRY FOOTBALL SUPPORTER: "Use the cycle lane!"
CYCLISTS: "We can't"
ANGRY FOOTBALL SUPPORTER: "Well that's OK, he's got a job do, he can do what he wants you grass!"
Oh. That's a new one.
Scratching off a scratch card whilst driving, with the classic WhatsApp gap in front.
Let's hope he won at least £100, so he'll be evens when the FPN comes through the post.
#scratchcarddrivers
Pretty sure some people just don't know it's illegal. Which is why raising awareness of
#mobilephonedriving
is important. I've since given up trying to have a nice chat with people, and just ride on.
Shitty little cycle lane, cycling in primary, and Mr White Van Driver, despite having enough space in front to swing a Boeing 747, goes for the close pass.
#cyclingclosepass
Hey Trolls! Check this one out. One could swing a bus in front of her and she wouldn't have noticed. But at least I put a smile on her face.
It's nice making people happy.
I could hear a cyclist behind getting all huffy and puffy, which is one reason to slow down a bit just in case something happens ahead.
Then if you see a junction coming up, keep an eye out for Uber drivers, and approach junctions with care.
This guy, wasn't even looking...
Since when is cycling a toxic topic? The police already shame drivers on social media, and receive far more footage from car dashcams than they do cyclists.
Unlike
@BBCRadio4
to be inflammatory like this. Do better.
Cycling has become a toxic topic, with cyclists shaming drivers on social media. And then there’s the hot topic of cycle lanes, which are loathed by many drivers…
This week

@mxwebs20
There's no obligation for cyclists to use a shared path. You'll tend to see slower ones on them, but not fit for purpose for a road bike. They're rarely swept, full of thorny stuff, and this one in particular has eight junctions on it. It's just quicker to be on the main road.
I caught another black cab in a cycle box today, and they were using their mobile phone.
Is that 6 points for the mobile phone and another 3 points for the cycle box infringement?
Wow. People are trying so hard to doxx me, and failing miserably.
I really wouldn’t waste your time.
This account is completely separate from my personal and work accounts.
But good luck trying! :)
MOTORISTS: Use the cycle lane!
CYCLISTS: We can't!
MOTORISTS: Well, if we need to park in it or drive in it then there's an exception to that rule, but the amount of times I've seen cyclists on pavements running down OAPs and wearing Lycra, unbelievable I'm telling you.
Result from court hearing 2 weeks ago.
Driver was found guilty for using a mobile phone whilst driving. 6 points, and £1250 in total costs/fine/surcharge.
This one was going over Putney Bridge.
Traffic was stop/start.
Aren't the
@metpoliceuk
@MetCC
supposed to take driving a bit more seriously, and not close pass cyclists? Why the MGIF? Coming up to a red traffic light FFS.
There was someone on here recently saying cars couldn’t possibly be used as weapons.
Think again.
Saddened to hear about this.
Thoughts and prayers to Ryan and his family.

Looks like some lovely weather!I’m off out with the helmet camera again today, to see how many mobile phone drivers I can catch. Thinking Hyde Park again.
Anyone else coming?
They really want to gag me it seems.
Even though I didn't break the rules i.e must stop before the 16th of July. Now they serve me with a CPN
@roadcc
@metpoliceuk
Confusing cycle lane, path, tree, cycle lane, path, tree, cycle lane, path, tree, cycle lane, path, tree; not actually sure how it's all supposed to work. Easier just to stay on the road... 🤷
If there’s a hazard ahead, slow down. Don’t just carry on like nothing is happening, as you will be held at fault (partially) if there’s a collision, even if the other guy is in the wrong.
I drive London, all day every day. Occasionally something unexpected/dangerous/illegal happens on the road
Over time I have come to recognise 90% time unintentional.
Driving in London is extremely difficult.
Why would I then try to get someone to lose their job from a mistake
@andrewellson
Oh boo hoo!!!!
Break the speed limit? You’ll likely get fined.
The sense of self-entitlement is absolutely staggering in the responses.
I’ve got a car, so why can’t I drive it faster?
Jeez.
I’d almost forgotten all about this, but now there have been further legal threats, the view counter is going up again.
