My mom cried when she had to give me 25.00 dollars for 🏈 sign ups at 6 years old bc it was between football & the electric bill being paid. I couldn’t imagine how my life would be if she didn’t invest that 25.00 dollars in my 🏈 dream. “Thank God for the 🏈 that saved my life”

My 1st year coaching stipend at James Logan was 300 dollars for the season. I told coach just give it to the kids or put it back in the program. Don’t ever think coaching is about money it’s a calling to serve. Coach is our title but we are so much more.

A WR blocking in football 🏈 is the equivalent to playing great defense in basketball. You don’t always have the ability to score or get catches every play but you can always block with relentless effort. It’s a controllable! #H2P

Coaches & Parents stop letting players travel for 7v7 all over 🇺🇸if they are under a 2.7 GPA the difference between 2.7-3.0 is🆓education. Very few options under a 2.7 Gpa. What good is it to travel & not be able to go to college? Use the offseason to change that transcript!

What is the plan for kids w/ the eviction notices on the door, abusive home, drug & alcohol addict parents, the trailer w/o running water, kids staying at teammates house bc they have no home? Fall Sports are a lot more important than just the games to so many. 🙌🏾 for those kids.

WR camp tip: To me if you don’t finish the rep the play doesn’t even matter. The WR job is to #1 Catch, #2 1st Down, #3 TD. Don’t do it for the applause, I don’t care if you make the kid fall, 1 hand, whatever. Be a Pro & Finish everything with relentless effort. Please. #H2P

Always hated the 4th quarter mentality. It’s like the guys who run gassers and wait until the end to sprint. I love athletes that run track because it teaches you that if you don’t run hard the entire race you lose period. Play hard the entire game from start to finish!

Most young athletes from poverty have been traumatized by men. So the lack of discipline is not disrespect it’s a reaction of defending themselves against trauma faced in the home. Love 1st then correct. Takes time to develop but with right leadership you get game changers!

10th grade grandma died, lived in basement w/no heat, my cousin got shot at school, 11th grade had to put my mom in a shelter for dom. violence & lived on my own. So when I say you are not a victim you’re a VICTOR I mean that! He’s got a purpose for your pain! Wake up & Win!

As an OC learned a valuable lesson from pos. coaches. They didn’t hold a script & act like they were OC. They ran around & coached their guys hard! It’s the OC job to call a play, it’s the pos. coaches job to get players to execute plays. You rise higher by lifting others UP!

Had bad grades & bad attendance in MS/HS not one teacher asked why? Asked if I was okay? Or if I ate? When I got to Juco I had a teacher ask these ?’s, then made sure i did each day & changed my life! Remember kids need the essentials to thrive & real support system… Leaders!
