I will continue to do all I can to serve the party and ensure a Labour victory at the next General Election.

Surely tonight the real issue was not about election tactics and which party leader had visited more hospitals; it was why a small boy was being treated on a pile of coats on the floor in a hospital corridor?
If Amber Rudd has gone because of a memo to
@theresa_may
telling her about higher targets for enforced removals, then surely the Prime Minister also knew and should not have allowed parliament to be misled all last week.
Ben, you should ask yourself why the only people campaigning for a second referendum are the ones who lost the first.
Precious few Leave Voters seem to be clamouring for the right to change their mind!
Labour must try to heal the divide not make it deeper.
I’ve contacted the police about the incitement to demonstrate at a Hindu temple in my constituency tomorrow. Anyone thinking of demonstrating should stay away and recognise that hate crimes carry jail sentences.

Just had to laugh as Anna Soubry tells Today Program that she & TIG failed to vote for a Customs Union that they previously demanded because it needs to have a close alliance with the single market to be effective...
Isn’t that Labour’s Policy?
"160,000 Tory Party members are going to decide the next Prime Minister and the future of our country. They will have a vote, we don't have a vote. I'm sick of it, I want a General Election to deal with the real issues in our country."
Say YES to our NHS.
Say NO to the Health and Care Bill.
304,761 people have signed the petition I took to Downing Street this morning to stop our NHS being privatised.

BBC election headline says parties are “neck & neck”.
Pity they then had to provide the figures...
Labour 2,350 seats - up 77
Tory 1,332 seats - down 33
Damn facts! Getting in the way of a good story again.
The astonishing thing is that the Prime Minister with all the cameras flashing away and a corridor full of journalists says “Well actually there are no press here”!
Lying comes as easily as breathing for him it seems.
"There are not enough doctors, there are not enough nurses. The NHS is being destroyed, and now you come here for a press opportunity"

But when his wife recovered & medical advice said he was fit to work he was NOT confident he could drive back without a “test drive” day trip to Barnard Castle!
Really?
Just remembering when it was that the last Tory Prime Minister resigned in tears...
Oh yes: the same year as England last reached the semifinals of the World Cup.
Just saying!
Today at No.10 I presented an “invoice” for the PM’s hospital treatment. Soon we could all be seeing invoices like this. The Health & Care Bill will give commissioning power to big US companies & drive health rationing to force people into Private health care.

Let’s unite and fight the government not each other.
Could this by any chance be the same British Gas that used Fire and Rehire to bully and sack hundreds of workers only just last year because they couldn’t afford to keep them on?
I made no criticism of
@BethRigby
at all. She asked a perfectly sensible question about health and trade as well.
By contrast, Libby failed to ask a question on the subject of the press conference and I gave her the opportunity to do so.
"Was that an opportune moment to get a dig in about something else?"

Proud of my colleague

who just showed what MPs are for.
He excoriated the Home Secretary and spoke with power & passion in defence of The Windrush generation of our fellow British citizens.
It is unbelievable that the Government plans to cut Universal Credit. They have lost control of this virus and people are losing their lives and livelihoods as a result. Will the Government do the right thing and scrap its plans to cut Universal Credit?

There can be no equivocation. The action of the Israeli government has been brutal and utterly unjustified.
This is not merely a disproportionate use of force. It is a calculated and cynical disregard for human life.
The UN must act.
Three government MPs have told me in the last 24 hours that they consider the only way through the mess their Prime Minister has landed the country in is a General Election.
Yes — government MPs!
My guess is May 2nd.
Andrew Marr asked me what would happen if Theresa May simply refused to give Parliament the government’s legal advice and was held in contempt of parliament:
This despairing father just cut through all the phoney photo ops and called out the reality of our NHS after 9 years of Tory (and Tory/Lib) austerity.

10 years ago I challenged Dow Chemicals to drink a bottle of water from Bhopal where they had gassed, poisoned and abandoned over 500,000 victims. They refused. Just as they still refuse to compensate the 1 in 10 children born deformed today.
🚨So from his Downing Street office Boris Johnson refuses to rule out further privatisation of our NHS.
It’s clearer than ever this general election is about ending a decade of Tory cuts & privatisation of health services & saving our NHS from Trump.🚨
In the MP’s phone call with Health Minister Lord Bethell I was told government had enough laboratory capacity and didn’t need small labs like the one in Brent (capacity 9,600 tests per day). Now we find the government has been sending tests to labs in the US.
Please explain.
The intransigence of this Prime Minister has shocked the country. The incompetence of this government has shocked the world. Now even her senior MPs are saying the only way through this mess is a General Election.

The Independent Group has a very clear ideology: maintain a status quo that has seen wealth and power monopolised by a tiny elite.
Watch as they back privatisation, spending cuts and tax breaks for the rich, win zero seats and leave politics for six-figure salaries in the City.
I think I just heard the Secretary of State agree at the Despatch box that the government is proposing to break international law!
But only a little bit.

Today’s NEC decision was a missed opportunity to reunite the whole of the Labour Movement. This photo is the image we should have seen. A party together once more.
Today’s NEC vote and Keir Starmer’s ongoing decision to bar me from sitting as a Labour MP is disappointing.
I am grateful for and humbled by the support I've received, especially from my Islington North constituents.

Interesting use of words from Barry Gardiner. The news that Hatton had been readmitted came on the on the day that seven MPs were "forced out" of the Party.
@ProfBrianCox
Sorry Brian
The clue is in the title.
We are The Official OPPOSITION - not the government’s support act or collaborators. They are damaging this country & risking a No Deal Disaster.
Labours Policy would solve both the border & the Tariff issues that are blocking a deal with EU
I've written to Boris Johnson calling for emergency support for people affected by the coronavirus epidemic, including rent deferrals and mortgage holidays, higher statutory sick pay from day one, and income protection for insecure, low-paid and self-employed workers.
Just received a response to my URGENT query on behalf of one of my constituents who is with his Afghan wife and three British children in Afghanistan saying the Home Office will revert “within 20 working days”. I could not be more angry.
Trouble is Eric, as the Chanel 4 Fact Checker discovered, that bit you highlighted in brackets was added on the website two days AFTER Theresa May had claimed you had already adopted it in full at PMQs this July 2018.

Any impartial visitor listening to the exchange in Parliament — the aggressive bluster on one side & the measured substantive & forensic questioning on the other — could only believe that it is Jeremy Corbyn who is the PM statesman & Boris Johnson nothing but a rowdy back bencher

who is trying to uphold parliament’s sovereign right to be consulted prior to a government engaging in military action.
Shame on them!
I have consistently re-affirmed our conference position - which if you recall Paul was that we should call for a General Election and IF THAT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL nothing should be ruled off the table including a second referendum. Let’s get the priority right General Election 2019.
I'm delighted that Labour's
@BarryGardiner
has confirmed "immediate" no confidence vote next week. I'll be even more delighted when he backs the Labour conference position of a second referendum if that vote is lost...
Absolutely. We all stood on the same manifesto that accepted the referendum and said we would work to get a deal — but it must be a deal that benefits the whole of the U.K.
PM’s red lines are pushing U.K. towards a No Deal disaster. We may need a public vote to stop her.
This letter sets out in robust terms that the Prime Minister must abandon her Brexit red lines. It does not take the option of a public vote off the table.

We already said that if parliament can take back control and agree on a credible deal then it should be put to a confirmatory vote of the people.
Happy now?
