This is your reminder to stay delusionally unfazed, even when the quad hawk (re: kite) steals your slice of pizza.
Shout out to my prescient classmate for foreseeing what's about to go down.
I guess it's time to put together an OR playlist.
I'm going to be a surgeon! This would not have been possible without my family, friends, and mentors. Let's go!!!
Temporarily stunned, perpetually grateful. Alhamdulillah!
First presentation ever and I couldn't be more thankful (still can't believe this happened!). Winning an award named after a pioneering Black surgeon was the gigantic cherry on top. Onwards and upwards and all the good directions from here!!
Our work on intestinal barrier dysfunction in children with Hirschsprung disease, presented by

Thank you for this tremendous honor! We are excited to explore this question and better understand this disease.
Regularly thinking about the time I was sending an email to my dean and couldn't decide between starting with "Hello Dean X," or "Dear Dr. X,"
Realized I ended up with "Hello dear" a moment too late
"The homeopath said he'll make the lump go away if I promised not to go to anyone else for an entire year," said the patient presenting with stage 3 (maybe 4) breast cancer. 1/4

Conf. Two original presentations from Nandivada lab and strong teamwork aside- I met old friends and made new ones, went up the Washington monument, and got a special tour of the West Wing!! 🏛️🇺🇸

Falah members (with representation from each branch!), in collaboration with the Dept of Fam Med & Chair Dr. Unab Khan, volunteered at AKU's new primary healthcare site. Med students performed exams and screened pts under supervision. This day has been years in the making!!
Turns out there is NOTHING like the feeling of the dhol walay entering the quad, hearing them strike the dhol, as all your classmates erupt into joy and frenzy and dance their hearts out

journal club was the first I helped organize. It felt summarily surreal to sit in the back, watching my juniors run the show like clockwork, at what might be my last of nearly 20 roundtables.
For the latest Roundtable, Dr. Saulat Fatimi discussed the journey to creating his patented pumping heart simulator. He spoke of the obstacles he encountered on the way and the perseverance it took to overcome them.

Inexplicably excited to lead an organization so close to my heart. I couldn't have asked for a better team to do it with as we go above and beyond to help deserving individuals and families this year.

Bonfire 2022 was a resounding success! Falah raised more than 280,000 PKR, all of which will go towards patient welfare. Dances, food, camaraderie, and glee headlined the evening.
Jittery and ecstatic!! Honored and humbled to lead an organization that I have seen grow exponentially as it continues to define what student involvement and initiative in research means. And what a team to do it with!

Join us in welcoming our new leaders: Abdullah Saeed and Saadia Abbas, who will serve as the Presidents of SRF, and Aiza Abbas, who will chair the 1st International Student Research Conference.
These individuals from the AKU Class of 2023 are sure to lead SRF to new heights!
On a lighter note, breast week was the best week because of an amazing team. Can't wait to have students in my own OR and call them kiddo and bacha and teach them lots!! 4/4
Immensely and immeasurably proud of the amazing team at

I don't have the agency to make a blanket statement about homeopathy or its practitioners. What I have gauged is that we must educate ourselves and the women around us. The majority of Pakistani women don't undergo routine breast screening 2/4

and only come to clinic when they can feel/see something and sometimes not even then. Protect yourself/the women around you from predators like the one this poor woman had to face. GO TO THE DOCTOR. Even better: get screened. 3/4
Sometimes when I'm on call in the OR I imagine the scrub nurse is tucking me in when they're putting on the gown so I can take micro naps while standing at the foot of the bed as the dutiful med student
