What is the structure of cognitive abilities measured in the ABCD study? There has been surprisingly little work on this. Dawn Moore (not on twitter) and I suggest a 3-factor solution: verbal ability, EF/speed, and WM/episodic memory. @Jintelligence1

Oh look, a Harvard professor who has never published a paper on the topic of intelligence, has never taught a course on the topic on intelligence, weighs in on the meaning of IQ. Dude, Gould did it, 40 years ago. He was wrong then, you are wrong now. Bored.

Unpopular opinion (just look at the QT's) but nearly every "dogmatic, outdated, and misleading" claim about IQ listed here is either objectively accurate or heavily debated dispute within the field itself. Let's take them one at a time:

My lab failed to replicate stereotype threat. Multiple times. One of my graduate students @LaTasha_Holden devoted years, yes years, in graduate school to better understand why. We are not slapstick psychologists.

Wow. Impressive study. In a large sample of adults (N = 18,426) the correlation between total brain volume and g is r = .276. Also, multiple global measures of grey and white matter macro- and microstructure account for unique variance in g. Well done!
