If the border policy were actually “open borders,” then why did the immigrants employ criminal smugglers?
It’s because the borders are closed. The predictable results are black markets, unnecessary crime, and tragedies like these.
At Least 42 People Found Dead Inside Truck Carrying Migrants In Texas.
These deaths are on Biden.
They are a result of his deadly open border policies.
They show the deadly consequences of his refusal to enforce the law.
"Military-age males" is another way to say "prime working-age men," but it doesn't sound as menacing that way.
"They're coming to work in a market with high labor demand" just doesn't get the nativist juices flowing.
@SteveDeaceShow
Exactly why we need to break their unions, remove QI, fire those who refuse to work, and hire more responsible people for those important jobs.
The U.S. government should:
1. Admit Ukraine to Visa Waiver Program,
2. Grant all Ukrainians automatic ESTA so they can travel here,
3. Grant asylum to all Ukrainians upon arrival,
4. Sort out inadmissibles upon arrival, and
5. Reap the benefits while doing tremendous good.
Calling the chaos on the U.S. border an “invasion” or a “war zone” is hysterical hyperbole that should be obvious to anyone who follows real war zones in Ukraine and Gaza.
On the U.S./Mexico border in Juarez we witnessed a Venezuelan family with a toddler going under the concerta wire to enter the El Paso illegally by placing cardboard on their backs to avoid being cut , the little girl can be heard crying as she goes under
@NewsNation
Because of the Biden border crisis, there is an alarming threat of suspected terrorists crossing into our country.
This crisis puts American lives and our national security at risk.
I asked a Venezuelan migrant on his thoughts on Americans that support socialism,"They shouldn't be in the United States" he responds. He says they don't know the reality of socialism and thats the reason he left his home country with just his backpack, daughter and his wife
Economic talking points from nativists:
1. If immigrants are more likely to be employed than natives: “Immigrants are taking American jobs.”
2. If immigrants work as much as natives: “Immigrants are unexceptional.”
3. If immigrant work less than natives: “They’re lazy.”
@BenZeisloft
Focus on making good tv show with interesting characters and conflict first. Don’t start with an ideology and work backward, it never works.
The current legal immigration system is almost as complicated as the income tax code. About 90% of people who want to come can’t. By comparison, Ellis Island rejected 2%.
My wife and I are welcoming another non-English speaking immigrant from non-existence into reality. It will take her a long time to assimilate to American culture, but I have every confidence that it will occur.
“Prime age workers” is more accurate than “military-age males.”
You’d understand immigration more but then you wouldn’t have a lazy invasion narrative.
This is simply not true. Republican Senators Cotton, Purdue, & Hawley introduced a bill to halve legal immigration LAST WEEK. President Trump supports halving legal immigration. Rep. Crenshaw is new to this debate, but he should at least know how the rest of his party views it.
Notice that many people conflate the terms “illegal” and “legal” immigration.
This debate is about whether we should have operational control of who enters our country.
Why should some immigrants be able to illegally cut in front of legal immigrants? Does that seem fair?
Poland’s population has increased by about 3% in the last 10 days due to Ukrainian refugees. On the US scale, that’s about a decade’s worth of immigration in 10 days or about 10 million people equivalent.
Good for Poland, keep those doors open.
So many traditional foods are actually recent inventions. Same for many other “traditions.”
“Tradition” is often (not always) just code for “things invented around the time I was a child that I enjoyed often.”
I'm one of the few who thinks the 1619 Project shouldn't be taught in government schools because it is has a lot of shoddy scholarship AND that a federal efforts to mandate patriotic education (whatever that is) is also a bad idea.
NEW: We’ve only been here about an hour and already a large group of 46 migrants just crossed the Rio and presented themselves to local deputies here in Del Rio, TX. Several of the migrants I asked said they are coming from Venezuela, just like yesterday.
@FoxNews
Went through TSA with my
#MAGA
hat on to remind everyone that their jobs are disposable and they're non-essential. Their paychecks come from someone else's paychecks. What a world we live in where we accept that.

You must give Republicans & conservatives who are appalled by the Capitol Coup a way out. Don't force them into bed w/ the supporters Capitol mob. Weaken that coalition by siphoning off the marginal members, don't make it stronger by mushing them together.
The Texas National Guard apprehends a group of illegal immigrants crossing into Texas.
Biden's open border policies have created a crisis at our southern border.
Texas is taking action to keep our communities safe & secure.
Biden’s new border plan reduced border crossers by 37.9% in January 2023.
An enormous success that proves LEGAL migration undermines illegal immigration. 🧵
Lots of bad things were radical too:
The USSR was radical.
ISIS was radical.
European Imperialism was radical.
Eugenics was radical.
Then they became normal, then reviled. Radicalism is not a mark of goodness or badness, merely an indicator of the degree of deviation.
Slave abolitionists were radical.
Suffragettes were radical.
Civil Rights organizers were radical.
Labor organizers + the 40-hour workweek were radical once, too.
There is no good natsec reason to block Afghan refugees. The risk of terrorism from Afghans has been low. From 1975-2017, zero people were murdered by Afghans in terror attacks on US soil.
Zero Americans have been injured or killed in terrorist attacks by illegal immigrants or asylum seekers who crossed the southwest border. There have been 0 terrorist attacks on U.S. soil by illegal immigrants or asylum seekers who crossed that border.
Remarkable speech. An unapologetic pitch for libertarianism that's data heavy, methodologically dense for a speech, and targeted at those who disagree. And delivered by a sitting president.
Milei could be the major inspiration for another generation of libertarians.
Hungary is less Christian than any U.S. state. What nationalists like Tucker mean is that Hungary’s government is more Christian that the American government.
The government is the only actor in the one-man nationalist ideological play.
Tucker: "They hate Hungary because it's a Christian country. Nobody wants to say it, but it's true. That is enough to incite our policymakers in the United States and that is exactly why they hate Russia, by the way."
Having unelected tech oligarchs ban duly elected members of Congress - or even the sitting President - from using their massive platforms is dystopian. Remember how many world leaders warned that FB & Twitter's banning of Trump was a threat to democracy.
Here’s what Barr said today. He’s clearly advocating the US government consider purchasing a controlling stake in these telecom companies. Not everyone inside the White House agrees with this.
@AlexNowrasteh
Also dismantled all the import (and export) restrictions and limits, and revoked the laws that only allowed Argentines to own land.
Definitely not MAGA.
Actually, when you give amnesty to millions of low-income illegals, and eliminate controls on future migration—as BBB does—you bankrupt Medicare, leading to skyrocketing prices and the rationing of treatment for vulnerable seniors.
IOW, they’re raising Medicare to fund amnesty.
Allowing Venezuelans to flee their socialist dictatorship for the United States is one of the most obvious policies that American politicians are ignoring.
If you don’t support allowing hard working immigrants fleeing socialism then you’re unreasonable & impossible to please.
There are like 6,200 refugee admissions in the last year adding to a population of ~330 million people. Housing prices are up like 15%.
How innumerate can you be?
The public doesn’t know how restrictive immigration laws are.
The public also doesn’t even know the basic effect of immigration: The legal immigrant share of the population.
Public ignorance & bad policy are correlated.
If you are worried about Russia, China, or other foreign countries, the cheapest way to reduce their power is to allow much more immigration from there. Helps US. Let’s see how much Putin or Xi like it when 20% of their most educated and productive taxpayers come here.
Anti-surrogacy Twitter is ridiculous. Surrogacy is a mutually beneficial voluntary exchange that internalizes the costs and benefits to the parties involved. And there are enormous externalized benefits: more people.
End qualified immunity, stop giving police departments military equipment, legalize drugs, don't treat the peaceful protesters like criminals, and arrest real looters.
All short term stuff, much of which will have long run consequences. What else am I missing?
Incredible cope.
Let’s consider the scenario: Open borders between the US and Europe. How much population would Europe lose to the U.S. on net?
I say 75-100 million people in 25 years.
Europeans aren't poor. They are illiquid. Much of Europe's wealth is stored in safe streets, nice parks, public transit, "free" healthcare, etc. which, it turns out, are too socially expensive for Americans to maintain. Americans take the money instead. The rest is only natural.
Imagine someone during Prohibition justifying the incarceration of bootlegger or drinkers by arguing, “My ancestors bought alcohol legally. They did it the right way. Do it legally now or suffer the consequences.”
Different rules have different compliance costs.
The video game industry made $43 billion in revenue last year. The workers responsible for that profit deserve to collectively bargain as part of a union. I'm glad to see unions like
@IATSE
and the broader
@GameWorkers
movement organizing such workers.
