Our kids shouldn’t have to break into pools in order to have access. Especially when it’s been this hot out. Pools, playgrounds, libraries, & recreational activities should be a right, not a privilege. Why is it always our children that are forgotten unless they’re build jails

The father of a kid I gave a scholarship to 8 years ago came to the center today to thank me in person for his son getting a college degree. He even donated us a box of board games and an air hockey table for our kids. I rarely get emotional in public but this almost broke me 🥲

Are we actually investing in our youth? In Baltimore we tend to criticize our youth heavily without actually providing enough safe and accessible opportunities for their development. We have to change that if we truly want to give them access to a brighter tomorrow.
