🇬🇧 Ex RAF Fast Jet Pilot and current Airline Captain. 🇬🇧 Be Warned: I talk about Politics as well as post aircraft photos! NOT interested in Bitcoin etc!
I should know better, but I am astounded at the number on Twitter, who know the cost of everything and the value of nothing!
You know my views on Civil Servant accounting. I doubt the cost of the Coronation will be £250 Million. But let’s say it is.
The Jubilee brought in £6.4…
Some Scousers at the lower end of the IQ scale have accused me of being a “nonce” or “paedophile” for posting this.
So just to annoy them, I will post it again 🤣
An interesting thread occurred regarding a tweet I made about “Kevin From Wales” criticising James Cleverly wearing medals - medals he was entitled to wear I hasten to add.
Some have commented that Cleverly has never been on Operations. Well, a lot of reserves haven’t. But here…
Most people who follow me on Twitter know I am a Brexiteer. I am not arguing Brexit in this tweet, but thought I’d give an insight of why I chose that over remain.
Like many, I was 50/50 as the referendum approached. I was well aware that there would be difficulties leaving the…
It’s not that I don’t have sympathy but……..
If you are going to be an ex-pat in a country that is a little dodgy regarding the odd civil war or two - like Sudan - I would strongly recommend making several exit plans so that you don’t have to rely on British service personnel…
Interesting.
4 people were stabbed in Ireland, and a relatively small scale riot kicks off - with the rioters labelled as “far right”.
When a black American is killed by an American policeman, major riots kick off in various places - and we are asked to “take a knee”.

History will show how Israel has perpetrated a holocaust against the native Palestinian population in Gaza.
The level of evil and industrial-scale killing on exhibition - and with the FULL backing of the US, UK and EU - is horrific in the extreme.

For the benefit of Mr Daw and those commenting below, if you have served you’d know the significance of the medals. But as you haven’t, you don’t.
Just to correct though. Charles was a ship’s captain, we regarded by his crew. Andrew - whatever you may think of him - saw active…
Mobile Phones on Aircraft.
I am often asked why we have to either switch off our mobile phones on aircraft - or at least put them into flight mode. I shall try to explain.
Enclosed is a diagram of the 787 aerial arrays. Never having flown one, I can’t verify if this is fully…
A bit of a tongue in cheek exchange with my local GP surgery today:
Phoning for an appointment, I was offered a date and time with a GP I have a little difficulty in understanding.
So with a bit of cheek I asked for an interpreter.
“But you can speak English!”
“Yes, but he…
I feel for any father who loses a daughter - especially in awful circumstances.
However, to go from Sweden - where the daughter was settled in a decent school, and they had decent accommodation etc - to then travel to France to try and cross in a dinghy to the U.K.?
That, I’m…
For those complaining that they ended up at the wrong airport during the storm, just think:
We could have spread you into little pieces down the runway at the RIGHT airport!
Is there any way to stop this app from auto refreshing?
I open it and see on my feed an interesting tweet to read. Then it auto refreshes, and the tweet I want to read disappears way down the list - sometimes never to be seen again!
My neighbour up the street commented this morning that he doesn’t get hedgehogs in his garden anymore. He’s got a hedgehog hutch with a little CCTV camera etc…..
I politely advised him that it might be something to do with the artificial lawn he recently laid.
He didn’t take…

Perhaps - rather than criticising - you get off your fat arse and try the job yourself.
Perhaps when someone drives a car at you, and you have a split second to make a decision, you can make the right call.
I have enclosed 2 photos of UN approved refugee camps, where refugees are housed (sometimes for long periods) whilst waiting for processing and relocation. The “orange tent” one is in Poland - set up for Ukrainian refugees. I repeat: UN Approved!

My wife and I have just watched “Plane” with Gerard Butler.
She said at the start “I will fine you £1 every time you say ‘that wouldn’t happen’”.
I owe her £1000.

Posting one frame does not tell the whole story. From what I gather from the whole video is the man was being assaulted by the woman prior to this.

A private business 40% owned by the taxpayer, who have a charter and have to abide by banking laws, as well as other laws on discrimination.
But just as important, a senior manager of a banking group discussing private customer details with a BBC news editor! That in itself is…
Whilst some have a go at the present government for the school buildings, I find it extraordinary that Local Authorities don’t have a record of what materials were used in each building.
The planning permission will have had to stipulate style and materials used.
If the builder…
@Peston
The Australian PMs aircraft is a 737. The U.K. PM used an A321 - which is actually bigger.
Stick to politics rather than aviation Peston, you are only moderately crap at politics.

I am sometimes asked if I still enjoy flying and is it still exciting?
It is fair to say that my view of flying has changed over the years, based on experiences and rolls - from being a young hooligan on fast jets right through to being required to be sensible on an airliner.

I have read this tweet, along with some of the replies. Storms this afternoon/evening have been causing chaos. I ended up in the hold before diverting. Hence why I am late back.
But let me correct somethings:
If an aircraft cannot land at destination (a massive thunderstorm is…

Flight diverted from Heathrow to Stansted due to storm & low fuel.

You, as my followers, know i generally reply with sarcasm rather than swearing.
But in some cases I have to make an exception.

I think there is little doubt now that Ms Vorderman is in the employ of the Labour Party - whether she’s paid or not is not known.
Zero comments on the SNP or indeed Labour corruption. Not a peep about the Sue Gray investigation, or more importantly no questions about Nick…
I’ve had a number of discussions over staff shortages at airports, and of course “Brexit” is blamed as the main cause.
In reality, however, Covid Lockdown was the main driver. Those on lower paid jobs, from Security to Ramp Handling, were immediately dumped on lockdown.

@Peston
You aren’t being ASKED to swear allegiance 🤦🏻♂️
You are being given the opportunity to do so if you wish to.
A bit too much subtlety for you Peston?
From what I have seen so far is that the “Republican’s” main reason for “Not my King” is it appears that he has a bit of money, and an elected career chaser is better than someone prepared and trained for service at birth.
But before we spend vast sums of money changing over to…

I don’t think they want to be dragged in to your mess TBH. They’ve been stung enough.
Freedom of Speech works on the principle that you say what you say, but if you say something libellous then the other person has right of response. Which is, oddly enough, what happened to you!
I am lucky to be at an age where not only did I get to speak to family who served in WW2 - and had time to talk to them before they passed on - but also had the opportunity in my service career to meet some of the more famous characters.
But with the 80th anniversary of the Dam…
Following on from trials on the Tornado GR4, the RAF have managed to perfect the micro injectors on the typhoon.
Recent trials have shown low level chemtrail spraying is now possible.

This is a photo of a peaceful protest march. Not sure of the exact date, but around the time Trident renewal was being decided.
Whilst I personally disagreed with them, note that the protest march was properly organised, escorted, and went by with very few, if any, arrests.

Even The Guardian reports that they had lock-on devises - which was a no-no with the agreement.
So van driven through London near a restricted area. Gets stopped and search. Lock-on devices found. Arrested.
Sounds fair!
We have just had our polling cards for the May council elections. In the letter, it gives a list of 30+ acceptable ID that can be used at the polling station.
It also says if you don’t have any of those items, you can go along to the council and get free voting ID.
No Excuse!

I recall that when I was a very young officer - many years ago - I had a bit of a grump with my instructor after the Air Force had mucked up something again - pay or allowances or something of that ilk - and mentioned perhaps that they were doing it deliberately.

Is this controversial?
The NHS did not save your life - the Doctors, nurses and other medical staff did.
The NHS did not pay for your treatment, the taxpayers did.
There does not need to be an NHS in its current form to provide healthcare free at the point of use.
Autopilot - The Myth.
There is a common myth that the autopilot does everything and anything on an aircraft. It’s a useful tool yes, but not in the way some think.
A common misconception is that the pilot “will press a button” and the autopilot will do the take off. Not true.…
Seeing some of the arguments over Voter ID - it’s got me thinking (uh oh!).
The main stay of the argument is that it benefits the Tories because it apparently makes it harder for young people to vote. It doesn’t, but bear with me….
This assumes that young people are more…

Snats unusually quiet. Not seen the Chemtrailers for a couple of days, and no sign of the flat earthers for a while.
So, time for a Tonka then!
I’ve come up with a new conspiracy theory to spread around to the gullible:
The “Chemtrail” behind this aircraft is especially designed to ignite the atmosphere - killing all life on Earth.
Here I am on a practice run, coming up behind the chemtrail. If it was real, and not a…
