Nearly 6 years ago Jordan committed to staying home. He was the #137 ranked OT in the nation. Tonight he was drafted in the first round. Incredible testament to the process. He stayed the course, fought adversities, and represented his hometown the entire way. Congrats Jordan!

Just came across an athlete with a Google Drive link in his bio that included his HUDL film, full-game film, track times, transcripts, test scores, and a list of recommendations from his teachers and coaches. I 100% recommend doing something similar. Such a smart idea.

There’s nothing worse than stumbling upon an underrated player and then finding out he has a 2.1 GPA. Being academically ineligible will cost you more opportunities than height, weight, speed, strength, rankings, etc. ever will. Scholarships are earned in the classroom.

Recruits: DO NOT PAY FOR MEDIA COVERAGE I’ve seen a number of “media outlets”claiming that they can get you offers if you pay them to write an article. A trusted media member would never do that. There are better ways to get noticed, so save your money.

Recruits: Include your phone number and high school coach’s contact information in your Twitter bio or pinned tweet. Don’t send college coaches on a wild-goose chase to track down a recommendation from your coach or a cell phone number. Make it as easy as possible for them.

Just a reminder that background checks exist in recruiting. College coaches are going to speak to your: • High school coaches • Trainers • Teachers • Counselors • Teammates • Peers • etc... Recruiting is basically a 24/7 job interview. Character matters.

In 2021, I had more Twitter impressions than 41 Division 1 football programs. That sounds crazy, but it shows just how many programs are behind the curve. Social media is the new-age facilities race. Those that heavily invest in creatives will prosper. Those that don't, won't.

Three things you can do tonight that will help your recruitment: - Reach out to your local school and set up a gameday visit - Fill out recruiting questionnaires for every school within a day’s drive (5-8 hours) - Update your HUDL film from last week and pin it to your Twitter
