"Stomp," a documentary on the Highland Springs cheerleading team as makes a run for a 4th consecutive Stomp-n-Shake national title, airs Thursday at 6 pm at the Henrico Theatre. Admission is free.

The 2018 All-Metro player of the year is Manchester QB Brendon Clark. He led the Lancers to a 15-0 record and a state title, producing 3,100 yards and 52 TDs. He has signed with Notre Dame.
Saturday at Hampton Univ. will be an 804 doubleheader.

The 804 has never won the 5 and 6 state titles in the same year.
Isiah Paige of Varina is named Class 5, Region B football offensive player of the year. Malcolm Greene of Highland Springs is the defensive player of the year. Springers coach Loren Johnson is the coach of the year.

The 6B all-region offensive player of the year is QB Brendon Clark of Manchester. Teammate DL Hakeem Beamon was named region defensive player of the year.
Benedictine wins the VISAA Div I state baseball final, topping St. Christopher’s 7-4. Jay Woolfolk pitches the final inning, Casey Green gets the win and Bennett Lloyd had the go-ahead RBI in the sixth.

On the second-to-last play of the game, Dale lateraled 5 times and the clock ran out. Matoaca players thought the game was over and came onto the field. Matoaca was called for illegal participation, giving Dale one final play at the 30, setting up the Hail Mary.
