@AsadAToor @HamzaSS @Jaferii Just a clarity: don’t think the opinion has made 63A in its entirety redundant. Sub-article (b) of 63A has become redundant. Opinion has no consequence on sub-article (a) that relates to resignation or joining another political party.

Sattar, J was issued contempt for writing an oped re appointments of ADSJs and not for threatening a judge or obstructing administration of justice. He was issued notice during the hearing of an unconnected matter while he was appearing as a counsel. 2/5

He requested the judge to clarify if it was a notice initiating contempt proceedings or SCN. The judge verbally informed him that SCN would be issued. Subsequently, SCN was served on him through President of IHCBA. He had two days to respond to SCN. 3/5

Sattar, J wasn’t even told what was the exact statement in relation to which he was issued SCN. Nevertheless a response was prepared but before it could be filed SCN was discharged. 4/5

@umergilani_lums @mhaiderimtiaz @UmmarZia I think there is very brief mention of local government’s power to name/rename roads in ICT Local Govt Act. A local Govt can name/rename only after approval of Fed Govt. Not aware of any other legal instrument on this issue that is applicable to ICT.
