Before Katelyn got her well-deserved and overdue viral moment, she was THE Gymternet’s fan favourite, on track to becoming the gymnast to beat.
The mount sets the expectations so high and, somehow, the routine exceeds them.
This sole routine brings me to tears every time 😢
Nastia Liukin’s ‘08 Vault perfectly epitomised all of her gymnastics as a whole.
She made an apparatus that was so quick and something to show power, instead, show us her grace and artistry and perfect technique.
No one but Nastia can make Vault an artistry presenting apparatus
the fact that Senior Mollie Korth has been doing this vault with this much precision consistently for so long and HAS NOT gotten a 10...
flabbergasted; i can’t see any deductions.
the most scary and also impressive thing in the world?
watching a birds eye view slow mo of a beam dismount, seeing them so off line and so close to honestly dying with the speed they have... yet 99 times out of a 100 they make it unscathed. HOW?!?
everyone please remind
@morgihurd
that she is a WORLD ALL AROUND CHAMP and no one and nothing can ever take that away 🥺
even beyond that, she’s become an amazing role model to the gym community and beyond in standing up for what is right
slava is beyond proud, and so are we :)
it must be so funny for laurent and cecile to go from coaching madison kocian who had great foundations for bars and had that innate ability
to coaching at WCC gymnasts who hate bars haha
theyve done wonders though, these gymnasts are getting better and better each competition
there’s so many outstanding attributes to Gabby’s bar work
but her 2016 routine... I will go to my grave knowing that routine was the most efficiently composed bar routine EVER displayed
perfectly played to her unique strengths in her choice of skills and was neatly packaged
we don’t talk enough about Emma Malabuyo and that ain’t right
the all around capabilities of this girl could ruin the whole Olympic Team puzzle with one competition
“this is mildly terrifying”
does a perfect switch split mount worth a D one after the other after the other
adding to the list of skills she is attempting in her first try EVER at the age of 32 after already having one of the most successful careers ever
i feel like we’ve all forgotten how amazing and in front Nastia was in Beijing.
not only did she produce a near perfect day in the AA (minus the UB dismount), she’d kept up with Shawn and surpassed everyone else in difficulty and had superior execution.
Shallon Olsen - the only gymnast to make all three VT Finals
Nina Derwael, Elisabeth Seitz - the only gymnasts to make all three UB Finals
Liu Tingting - the only gymnast to make all three BB Finals
Brooklyn Moors - the only gymnast to make all three FX Finals
LEGENDS ONLY
i love jade avoiding those artistry deductions by doing proper dance at the start and end of her routine rather than starting and finishing on tumbling passes 😎
brian carey is the only person who reads the code i swear
this girl has a very bright future ahead of her, can’t wait to follow her even more as she matures through this Olympic Year and through next quad!
Jennifer Gadirova - remember that name
i will go to the grave knowing this should’ve been Mai Murakami’s first World medal.
her technique, he landings and chest position (minus the triple full) were near perfect. the artistry, the flow of the routine, the difficulty.
i don’t know what the judges were seeing.
ALL AROUND - JANUARY
2020 Olympic Podium Predictions
🥇- Simone Biles 🇺🇸
🥈- Morgan Hurd 🇺🇸
🥉- Melanie de Jesus dos Santos 🇫🇷
Honourable Mentions - Grace McCallum 🇺🇸, Sunisa Lee 🇺🇸, Ou Yushan 🇨🇳, Ellie Black 🇨🇦
recently got my front full and I was so weirded out about me twisting to my right
so, the natural course of action, i started psychoanalysing gymnasts side they do their round off, how they twist backwards, how they twist forwards
and here is shawn twisting both ways, confusion
grace did not just confirm they were planning a 6.7 D routine on bars… i want to cry
however, a PSA that the worlds team this year is looking pretty open *wink wink*
let’s not forget how much of an amazing floor worker Sui Lu was.
incredible difficulty in both tumbling and dance, amazing presence, beautiful precise technique, she truly had it all.
I feel like someone went to China and helped them with their consistency, conditioning and made them feel loved and feel happy again doing gymnastics... OH WAIT
in light of the recent news, let’s remember Asuka Teramoto’s best finish at the World/Olympic level
in 2014 she performed what I would say was a medal winning beam performance. she’s always been very dependable and didn’t deserve this, especially in the year of her home Olympics
more known for her beam work with a world title and bronze, schäfer missed out on the floor final in rio by 0.033
she’ll be heading to her second olympics in tokyo
personally don’t see why anyone could like a certain person’s gymnastics
while vault is MASSIVELY improved, still not amazing, and the other three just have so many built-in deductions just from basics that i just can’t see it
