In TEC as queer clergy my life is basically digging my bare feet into the broken glass the church dumps in our special segregated rooms. Hoping it embeds itself in my flesh so the floor is a bit clearer for the next generation of LGBTQ+ persons they force to walk there.

Jesus actually has a parable about a woman who made an unjust judges life absolutely miserable until he provided justice just to shut her up. It is 100% a christian means to perpetuate justice by actively working to make unjust judges lives living hells until they do their job.

This embodies the "thoughts and prayers" mentality of the politicians. Any actual substantive work to provide for human suffering is of no concern, it is "political". They think their politics are not personal and don't have repercussions. It is beyond heartless.

@EdwardBadger14 LGBTQ+ youth are disowned, rejected, and abused at home to a point they often are forced to live on the streets. This is nothing new, it has been happening for decades, and those who maintain homophobic and transphobic ideology are the cause. You were the sign of their abuse.

The Episcopal Church has been Pro-Choice for over 50 years. Our first Pro-Choice statement occurred BEFORE we provided women voice and vote at our General Conventions. In the 60's a bunch of Episcopal men got together and wrote the first official Pro-Choice statement.

Anglicanism requires listening, questioning, and thinking. An Anglicanism divided from science, academia, and exploration isn't Anglicanism. This is why The ACNA, anti-LGBTQ+ TEC, non-liberation based Anglicanism cannot thrive. This process may be slow but it is inherent.

Anti-LGBTQ theologies that expect forced undiscerned celibacy for LGBTQ+ individuals create a permanent class of widows/orphans in society. This action is antithetical to the center of biblical morality. The creation of households, not their destruction, is God's desire.

I have to consistently be charitable to other clergy who refuse to engage basic medical and mental health science regarding LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention and dismiss my trauma narrative as irrelevant... otherwise I don’t value the process of reconciliation. This is TEC.

The amount of ink spilled by the early church meditating on the idea that Adam and Jesus were both non-binary hermaphrodites existing as the fullness of humanity in one being... tells us how ‘clarity’ regarding the biblical narrative regarding only two genders is nonsense...

We don't have Creedal Liberation Theology a la Cone in TEC. We have cringey Big Tent Creedalist waxing on about how we cannot disparage bishop candidates who refuse to value LGBTQ+ people who and cannot open their mouths about BIPOC individuals without pulling a racism.

@ThomasWillett9 Florida just signed into law government sponsored kidnapping and estranged parent kidnapping of transgender children from affirming parents with expectations to rewrite all child custody documents for transgender children in favor of the non-affirming parent. The real issue.

When TEC clergy chastise their peers for being in solidarity with Edwin Chiloba and LGBTQ+ persons in the global south they are choosing to be in solidarity with those who murdered Edwin and entombed him in a dumpster. There is no way to compromise over the value of a human being

This is actually why I am a proponent of communion regardless of baptism because it is ultimately about a lot of Christians having to process their faith with no sense of special status and that is the reality a post-Christendom anti-colonial church needs to understand fully.

Anglicanism is on a path towards being a healthy body. We used the steroids of colonialism/nationalism and various performance enhancing supremacist ideologies for a long time. Withdraw from substance abuse is difficult and painful but we can make it one day at a time.

@MinecraftMatto @EppicSally No LGBTQ+ individuals clearly exist in the world build and of the three coded LGBTQ+ characters two are villains, one the historic big bad, and the one good gay character’s biggest mistake, that cost him his family, is having a gay relationship.

@episcopal_news "Ex-Gay Ministry" and "Reparation Therapy" has always been about forced undiscerned celibacy even as it put itself forward as a "cure". Expectations that LGBTQ+ individuals be forced into undiscerned celibacy is, at best, "Ex-Gay Light". An abusive practice long found in TEC.

@darin4really @himboanalytics Neglecting a child's healthy development of sexuality and gender identity is abusive. Ensuring LGBTQ+ youth have access to resources that can ensure their quality of life, and survival, into adulthood is an essential work of the community to promote basic safety for all members.

One possibility is that the Syrophoenician woman is the only person in the Gospel who is called out on her privilege by Jesus who then responds appropriately with humility and deeper awareness. Her potential as a saint of our era is clear but we have to recognize ourselves in her

1) That the beginning of new human life, because it is a gift of the power of God's love for his people, and thereby sacred, should not and must not be undertaken unadvisedly or lightly (1/2)

Which is to just to say if we see Paul as a competent community organizer struggling in contexts to bring about the change that can happen at that point in time, instead of a unilateral dictator incapable of nuance, then suddenly a lot of our problems with Paul dissipate.

The Episcopal Church... has been the socially legitimating Christian identity for those seeking upward mobility with no major litmus test for actual belief for generations. It is also LGBTQ+ affirming in general theory... so would be an excellent choice for those seeking such.

We have decades of LGBTQ+ individuals whose childhoods in TEC were marked by the mindset found within "Side B" theology. Only some of us survived repeated attempts to implement it and only some of us survivors kept the faith. It is beyond time to move on.

The Anglo-Cath youth program of my teens was basically trying the "Side B" but not Ex-Gay gambit. It destroyed any capacity I have to discern a call to actual celibacy. At age thirteen it was me and a prayer life whose main purpose was to deny my capacity to love and be loved.

@CDSPTweet Is CDSP going to allow open debate about the value of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ individuals in the church? Or should only LGBTQ+ seminarians be expected to have their value as human beings debated in class? It is sad CDSP rejects the non-discrimination canons of TEC.
