Welcome, welcome, welcome, to
@CoachDBowles
who is joining our basketball staff here
@WFHS_HS
we are so excited about the experience you will bring. Welcome as well to his wife
@akbowles77
who will be teaching at West also, and their son Brooks.
What a strong spirited man, Coach Z is the best. Just got back from cancer treatment and brought the juice to the weight room. We love him, but since he doesn’t do social media guess we have to tell him face to face everyday.
Thinking about our guy today and sending good vibes to Will Moore
@willmoore3311
as he has his surgery. He was on the
@ATLTipoffClub
watchlist for juniors but will come back primed and ready for a HUGE senior year.
Congratulations to Micheal Zabetakis
@michaelzabo
for being recognized as Men’s Sports Rookie of the Year for all of West Georgia Athletics.
@UWGAthletics
. Walk-on, to starter, to scholarships player in 1 semester, job well done. Now back to work.
Congratulations to Broc Bidwell
@bidwellbroc
for scoring his 1000 point Saturday in the 2nd quarter at Roswell, and fittingly he did it on a 3 pointer. He is only the 2nd West boys player to every reach that mile stone. Jimmy Staiti
@JStaiti_20
was the first.
@WFHS_HS
Close game all night then when it was a 5 point game in the 4th Lachlan Povenz hit a 3 and was fouled, missed the FT but Chase Damerell got the O rebound and found Sam Maynard in the corner for another 3 to push it to 11.
It’s alway hard emotionally when it’s over. Special Thank You to all our Seniors.

Great dinner tonight for our 4 Seniors, Sam Carder, Brandon Goldberger, Derek Pepin, and Prem Stanley
@cabernetsteak
such a classy group of young men. We also got to celebrate and thank Lena Davis for her 7 years as our trainer, as she will be moving the end of March.
Before we get to the varsity post, here is one about our 9th Grade. Lambert tied it up with this FT with just seconds remaining and then watch our Jaylen Ivy.
Huge Memorial Day weekend for our family. Got to celebrate my grandmother’s 100 birthday. Such a Patriot herself. Her husband died in WWII, not having seen his new daughter/my mom that was 1 month old.
“Don’t mourn the ones that died, rather thank God such men and women lived.”
So good for our guys to volunteer today for Meals By Grace. The JV and 9th Grade Team worked with produce. The Varsity made and bottled laundry detergent.
Big day for
@_sammaynard
all the hard work and the many hours in the gym and weight room has paid off as he will be going to
@UWG_MBB
to continue his basketball career.
Glad to have
@willmoore3311
back playing with us after missing entire Jr season.
Back to back huge games from him here at
@GCSUBobcats
Team Camp. Last game last night 38 points on 7 made 3’s and this morning 47 points on 13 made 3’s and some highlight dunks.
Been hard to deal with end of our season and HS career for these seniors. They have been so instrumental in turning our program around. 4 state playoff appearances, set school record for wins twice, played in Region Championship twice. thank you all and also to Fred Smaltz
Wow what a fun night to get to see all the alumni... the “older” alumni beat the “younger” alumni and then turned around and beat the upcoming varsity team. Had us down 16, we cut it to 3 with 13 seconds but cud not finish the comeback.
Last day of hosting feeder games and finished with a nice 8th grade win over Etowah. Started down 15-2 battle all the way back and took lead with :30 left on this game winning shot by Andrew Spaulding.
Was great to have former player and current
@Lions_MBB
player
@CalebLesch
back in our gym last night. The gym where he set and holds school record most 3s made in a game with 9. He was back to see younger brother
@tyler_lesch
have a big night for East with 23 points.
#MuchLove
Again don’t usually post individual stats for sub varsity games, but
@masonpage07
just had 10 steals in the win over East Forsyth to go along with his 13 points.
Varsity game up next.
Tonight our up and down season came to an end. Afterwords our entire group paid tribute to our tremendous seniors, for their great examples of being unbelievable teammates, leaders, and young men.
