'81: "If we learn anything from this pandemic, it must be that we are all connected on this delicate little planet.... that the pernicious myth of separateness that lies at the root of so much oppression and injustice in this world must finally be obliterated."
Wesleyan students have a proud tradition of activism, and Wes supports students’ rights to peaceful protest. Admission reviews details of any suspension reported by an applicant. A suspension for a peaceful protest against gun violence will not impact an admission decision.
Congratulations to Jennifer Lame '04 for her Oscar for Best Editing for her work on the film "Oppenheimer." Jennifer was a film studies major at Wesleyan and previously worked on "Manchester By the Sea" and "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

"We can move through the darkness of the hour to the brightness of a new day," said Martin Luther King Jr. in an address to the Wesleyan community in 1964. Looking back over his four visits, one is struck by how many of his concerns still exist today.
54 years later, these words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. still ring true. Wesleyan's community was lucky enough to welcome Dr. King to campus four times in the 1960s for speeches and rallies, including Commencement 1964 (pictured here).
